ive finally decided to book my bike in with the local bike mechanic next wednesday and have also decided to get the mot done at the same time. im a bit concerned over the rear disk tho does anybody know the requirements and measurements for mot standard?

there is a set wear depth. but basicaly, if it has significant indents or scratches it will fail

Standard + minimum thickness should be marked on the disk, read it then measure the disk, also look for blue areas (disk warped or caliper sticking) and bad ridges.
If in doubt change it.
