HI Guys,

As my riding has improved (and my confidence for that matter Very Happy ) I decided to open up my RS 125 and find out what It can do. However as I got into the red (in 5th) the back end felt as if it wanted to slide out : . I know that it was a bit windy yesterday (and with the experience of my rear sliding out from under me I definately contributed to the wind if ya know what I mean Wink ), but nothing that I would constribute to that.

I would like to hear your comments/advice on the matter and not on what type of bycycle clips and rubber pants I should get in case it happens again Laughing

You mean round corners etc or on straights?

On straights then its either the wind, or something unnervingly mechancially screwy. Especially when overtaking things/building/hedges/shelter wind can come from funny angles for very short times.

On corners maybe your tyres need replacing, maybe the road is a bit slippy/wet, maybe you just opened it up a little too much?

It was windy Ilike I said and occured on a long corner for that matter, and there was a hedgeline. I never thought that could effect the handling. I don't think its the tyes as there fairly new (Bridgestone's)

You should never repair a powerband - always replace it. When they go they go with a bang.

The old ones are always the best Very Happy

I have actually been told in the past, in all seriousness, by a lad on a motocrosser that he had "bolted a new powerband on the side" Very Happy

a lot of factors can affect sliding whilst going round a corner/bend-
*broken/breaking power band
*leaning over too far for the amount of throttle you're putting on
*going in too fast
*trail breaking too hard
*wet/moist ground
*painted surface (white lines etc...)
*drain cover
*loose gravel
*wind

I reckon you might be leaking something over the back tyre, or your clutch is slipping and you *think* the back end is spinning.

I don't know many big bikes that can spin up the rear in fifth, let alone a 125...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
