Other bikers that have helped you out..

Well, all the time there are comments about how we would/have helped other bikers out, so, what about bikers that have helped you out?

Like yesterday, I was filling up, my tank cap thing was a bit jammed, A gu7y in a van came up and said he used to have same bike, and offered to undo it for me, just as i did it.

This morning, on way to work, A biker stopped me and notified me my number plate bracket had come lose, and was about to fall of the bike, then rode off.

i stop for everyone whos by the road, and ive fixed a few bikes for people, its usualy stuff like spark plugs, kill switches being faulty and no fuel.

i did stop for one guy on a small estate, asked if he was okay, he just looked at me and said "yeah are you" and drove off lol.


ill always stop, even if there fine, usualy have a chat ect and fook off.

i like to give a big to knowsley and the gang at the ex gs500.uk site for helping me out when my chain broke on the motorway 400miles from home, i hadnt met them before but called one guy from the site (essex joe)and he put the word out and i got saved,

I followed a bloke on a Thundercat around Hemel Hempstead for a while flashing my (car) lights at him because his front brake switch wasn't working and i'd nearly shunted him up the backside (oooer missus!)
I followed him to his house, and bless him he must have thought i was an irate motorist/bike thief as he got off the bike looking like he was ready for a punch-up! I poked my head out of the car window and said 'Mate, your front brake switch isn't working, it's not the bulb as it works on the rear brake, you want to get that fixed, i nearly rammed into you, next time you might not be so lucky'
Thankfully he didn't punch me, said thanks and we both went our seperate ways - me full of the joys of good biking Karma!

Last summer when I got my RS I was going for a few laps around the Ulster GP circuit. It was pissing down rain and I had rode over 100 miles that day, next thing I know the bike started to chug like fook and it came to a standstill.

I freewheeled for about half a mile hen had to stop. Knowing bugger all about bikes at the time I was how they would say properly pissed off as the bike wasn't even a month old, oh and the (wet type) of rain wasn't helping too much either. Anyway about 15 minutes of looking through the fairing was starting to take the piss as I thought it actually looked like I knew what I was doing until I heard "alright mate"... turned round and there was a man standing in combats with an Isle of Man TT t-shirt on. Never have I believed in God so much at that time. He couldn't help me because it was an electrical fault but he gave me a lift home (10 miles out of his road) and I couldn't even give him petrol money because I had no cash. He was a top bloke and I couldn't thank him enough, he was more than happy to help. Hopefully I'll come across him again one day and he will recieve a large pint.

Tried to help out a guy 20 mins ago who was parked up near Tesco's. His Fazer had died with duff battery/alternator so there wasn't anything I could do to help. .

I hope he get's rolling soon...

The person who helped me most was our very own Rookie. On the Mayday ride out, I had a rear tyre that was deflating due to a puncture and I didn't even realise it, it was a slippery surface anyway and I reckon a little while longer and I would have had a crash, could have been serious. Top trumps for him telling me about it. Need more people like that, looking out for the people in front of them.

I helped Jackyboy out a few weeks ago when we had the bad winds....well help wasn`t the exactly right. The A624 Tunbridge to E Grinstead was blocked by a fallen tree and it was dam cold, I was sat there in my nice warm truck when a biker came past spoke to the PC got off his bike and removed his helmet.
We exchanged a few words he informed me we were gonna be here a while so I offered him the use of my warm passanger seat After a chat and about 20 mins we were ready to go, would do the same for any biker

Knocked off my 750cc many years back, in rush hour traffic, hit and run driver. Pinned under my bike, cars driving around me, ignoring me. Another biker, filtered through, blocked the taffic with his bike, helped me up, gave me his number if I needed a witness, and set off in pursuit of the hit and run driver.

About 4 years ago i was walking over a motorway junction and looked down at the hard shoulder and a biker was usung to sos phone.

I thought he may have run out of fuel so i stumpled down the steep bank to the motorway to offer him some fuel as i only lived down the road.

When i got over to him, i asked him if he was out of fuel to which he replied.

'No its the gearbox, im on the phone fuck off'

Nice off him.
Still his own fault for buying a TRX the TWAT.


Also on the note of bikers stopping. I had a carb problem on a ZX9R B1 and broke down 1 mile from home. I decided to push it home so gave my helmet, bag etc to my partner and started to push. about 15 bikes went pass without one stopping. And more worryingly as i lived about 3 miles from the local police station about 6 coppers passed me and not one stopped to see why i was pushing a motorcycle with no helmet etc on me.

Nice to see they are on the look out for bike theft!!!!!

When I was a teenager I ran out of petrol on my DT50 down some country lane. A guy pulled up in his car, got a jerry can out of the boot and filled my tank up. I'll never forget that and it's had a big impact on how I trat other stranded riders.

Year before last I found a guy stopped on the hard shoulder of the A2. His rear wheel bearing was shot, but not fully collapsed. He didn't have a clue about bearings etc so I took him round the local bike shop, got his bearings, took him to my house and changed them for him, sent him on his way.

Same year I found a guy stuck on the M25/A10 roundabout. His bike was blowing fuses. It was a GPz fitted with a GSXR1100 engine and honda electrics. Took me 20 minutes to find the fault and sent him on his way too, it had been in the shop twice trying to trace the intermittent fault.

About 5 years ago I found a guy stuck on the A2/M25 roundabout. Ran out of petrol. I had a jerry-can full in my van so I filled him up

Last year a guy on a zx-7r was on the hard shoulder of the M25 near Clacketts lane. Blown fuel-pump fuse. We managed to get that working between us he knew what he was doing but had no tools.

I've also picked up two other people with broken-down bikes I was passing in my van and delivered them home. I always stop for broken-down bikes. Whenever I help someone and they offer me a drink I just tell them to make sure they stop for the next bstranded biker they see.

not bike related as such, as my bike was at home, but I was hitch-hiking back from Glastonbury, in my leather jacket, and oily cut off that I used to wear, unwashed/unchanged for about 7 days. very crusty woke up in a ditch just outside reading, slept in one of those army sleeping bag things that are half coat, half tent. Ate my mars bar for breakfast, now skint, sparked up what was left of my last spliff. Looking like shit, stood by the side of the road with my thumb out.

First car to come along stopped. Luxury beemer, leather seats, air-con the works. Took me all the way to the A23 near Brighton. His son was at Oxfor Uni, and was doing some sponsored prison break for rag week, and so thought he should stop for me, karma and all that

I stopped today for a guy who was pushing his bike, run out of petrol, offered to get him some petrol and he said nah it's ok. Me thinkth he may have been trying to get out of something, maybe work!

Paid my doley mate a tenner to push home an old nail I bought cheap, and a few people stopped to offer to help get it going..... flat tyre, no chain, no spark plug etc etc

When i crashed my ns125r-k tryig to keep up with a blade and a pair of r6's they all stoped and hanged around picked up bits of my bike etc

and even the 3 that left us for deat turned around came back and helped
