Just been out for a couple of hours ( cat and fiddle and back ) and it seems that drivers arent ready for motorbikes yet.
I reckon that because they havent seen many for athe last 3 months they havent "trained " themselves to look for us again.
I must have had 4 cars pull out on me today, not causing me to lock up, but definately causing me to brake pretty hard, and to be fair to them 2 drivers gave me an apologetic wave.
So as usual, be extra careful and assume that everyone else is an idiot. Wink

The coppers are out in force as well to spoil the fun. I went for a ride up Skipton way and saw literally about 10 white unmarked vauxhall estates that had pulled people over (all cars, no bikes Laughing ).

Lots of noobs on brand new sports bikes too. Sitting in traffic when there's safe filtering opportunitys and slowing right down on the twisties than hammering past on the dual carrigeways. Rolling Eyes

Its not the car drivers its the the motorcyclists who havn't been on the raod for the last 3 months. They forget all about forward observations and planning.

Alot of us don't leave the road over the Chilly months and never have any problems. Wink

so explain the c0ck who decided to come from the slow to the fast lane and brake for no reason on me yesterday on the A46. I've sprained my wrist I braked so hard.

I've ridden my bikes constantly since I passed my CBT in 2003 doing above average mileage.
I had my lights on, I was doing 80 so speeding but not by much. and he swevered, blocked me for a while then pulled back in...

Maybe he wanted a new car

Answered your own question there Simple, he/she was a 'cock' Smile

I just had some close calls mainly do to me trying to squeeze through spaces far too small for my bike although i did have some nob in fiesta that was so fooked the rear arches looked to be rubbing on the tyres beep at me as i overtook, apparently overtaking is against the law or something.

Meh.

He probably would have done it if you were in a Dayglo green Transit van...most don't look before they change lanes, they assume its empty.

It's the weekend. There's a different breed of driver abroad than during the week. People are more relaxed, less switched-on and generally driving about in a daze. During the week most drivers are in work-mode and a lot more in control of their senses.

Some fool tried to take me out yesterday, by moving from the left lane to the right lane without looking.

When I slammed on(stoppie style) and applied the horn, he returned the horn and gave me the finger.

Luckily for me the traffic lights ahead changed to red so I sped around him, stopped the bike and got off and had words.

Apparently he'd seen me, but said how much room do you need.

All that was going through my mind was don't hit him, don't hit him. I somehow managed not to do so.

I did use many expletives and I was shouting so loudly at him my spittle was going all over him.

Thinking about it, I should have removed his car keys and chucked them over the nearest building, i'll do that next time.

I think it's more in the South East people can afford winter gloves. You Northerners keep on nicking the free disposable ones from your petrol stations Wink

indeed, i don't know where you read "winter" from.

any ways, i've see the news, there's been snow up north, you can't hide forever Laughing

The weather in london has been just dreary for the supposed "winter" season, not cold just damp and windy, almost the same as summer only cooler. Thumbs Up

A real problem seeing or being seen at the moment is the low sun by mid-afternoon.
Sometimes if you're going up a hill into it you can see practically Nothing
