ASDA carpark? ISTR reading that if somewhere like a supermarket car park has access from the road then you do need insurance etc. Unlikely you'll get caught but be careful. All it takes is one nosey neighbour to phone the police and say there are two motorbikes playing around in the car park.

Just be careful that's all I'm saying - I think we'd all agree that trying someone's bike out in a big, deserted car park is an OK thing to do. But like I said above, one busy body reporting 'two hooligans wheelying in ASDA car park' could result in a right pain in the bum.

no way, it did more in first than my bike does in 5th lol!
And when that Vboost kicks in its just something else!
I found it really good to ride, nice position, And tonnes of power - more than you need!

Depends. If the carpark is open and has no barriers then it is classed as public road to all intent and purpose. However, if it is barriered off and the barriers are down preventing public access it reverts to being private land and you are OK, provided you have permission to be there.

Not as off-putting as it sounds, some Asdas (or other big companies with barriered carparks that are empty evenings and weekends) will give you permission to use their carparks during closed hours if you ask them

I wasn't nit picking, I said I would have done the same. It would be a shame to get done for no license and insurance just because you didn't realise the law.

I'm supposed to be selling my '99 carbon full power Vmax... (aye right)... If you like the Vboost with the standard setup you should try it with a TBoost kit installed or even the ZBoost. Tboost allows you to set the Vboost at the standard 6k revs, 'off' or at 3k. A Zboost allows the Vboost to be permanently on.

For an old bike it can show most bikes a thing or two traffic light to traffic light. Forget the handling horror stories...just enjoy Cool

IMHO the Vmax is one of the best looking classic bikes.

Never said that was a standard Vmax. Its a 'max with smaller front wheel and a larger rear. To educate the standard comes with an 18" front and 15" rear. There are reasons for this, mostly to do with the intended purpose of the bike, and when it was designed. Look closely the bike also has a frame brace to stop the frame flexing. I've seen bikes that have done that and they were standard, but the riders were fearless Karma and the exhaust systems and pegs were scrapped to hell...

This bike will be mine when my restriction period is up... and i cant f*cking wait!

Only been on the back of one but when you get 5/6 in a line nothing can compare. Some Supertrapps or Devils on the end make it sound amazing. Nothing compares. (IMHO obviously)

I dont think theres any bike i have wanted more. Although when i first saw it i thought it was vile and looked horrible... my Dad then proceeded to start it up... then the love began. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Yep they aint stories, they are fact, been on one and they are the easiest bike to get the pegs down on I have ever riden. Was going to buy one untill I had the ride on it. Look good and as fast as fuck in a straight line but on the twisties forget it. Confused

To be honest though if you grow some balls youre not going to be too far behind. Wink Just do a couple of alterations and you'll have a max that handles, maybe not as well as the 98R1 but it'll be damn fun when you get out of the corner/when your bumhole's stopped twitching. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

First mods should be the fork springs. £70 for nice decent progressive springs. The rear wheel can be changed so you have a better choice of rubber; a new rear wheel will set you back about £500, unless you convert a divvy900 wheel to fit. Riders then tend to go for a smaller front wheel and better shocks. Again a divvy front wheel can be made to fit and you can swap the standard Vmax shock for XJR or even GSX14 shocks. A frame brace also has a surprisingly positive effect on the feel of the bike. Go to vmaxchat.co.uk for more information on the bike including some serious mods.

Don't matter how big your nads are its a cruiser....Cruisers wont keep up on the twisties no matter what you do to them. The ground clearence isn't there. Spending money modding it so it goes aroung corners a little bit faster is pointless when you can buy machines that will out handle it out of the crate. Wink
