Stupid question i know but i've just re-taxed my bike and my MOT certificate expires on the 22nd of february.

My question is do i need to get an MOT done asap or only when i come to renewing the tax next year?

Thanks

If on the 23rd of Feb you have no MOT and are still riding on the roads, that is technically illegal...

There could be a grace period but i highly doubt it,

and you can say you were on the way to a appointment at the MOT centre.... but again that would just be testing your luck...

You could also get a MOT tomorrow and they will date it the 22nd Feb 2008 for when it expires. Wink

Poilice could also tell just by your registration that your MOT has run out so I would get it done asap.

There is no grace period after your MOT runs out, but you can have it done up to one month before it expires and have your test certificate forward dated those extra days.

So basically get it done now, and you will have up until the 22nd February to fix any faults it fails on and get it retested before it runs out.
