Hey,
I just got back off one of my many driving lessons, and i'm finding the more i drive the bloody things the more i hate them. I find that i hate the feeling of been boxed in and not quite in touch with the surroundings. It sort of clautrophobic.

In fact it went so bad today that all i wanted to do was get home, jump on my bike and go for a nice long ride. (Thats what im gonna do when i stop ranting)

Give me a bike, rain or shine, ice or snow, anyday.

I hate Cars!!

Is it just me or do all bikers see that bikes are far far far superior to cars?

Cheers,
Shaun.

I'm not overly fond of them either, but they're bloody useful when you need to carry large objects/lots of stuff Thumbs Up

Nope, they're different, cars are good for carrying stuff and/or people. Oh and you don't get wet when it rains, there's a radio, there's heating, and you don't have to spend ages getting changed. Razz

I likes both.

The claustrophobia is easily solved, take the roof off. Cool

Well I'm a Car driver of 6 years and still pretty much a noob when it comes to bikes. I must admit I've always loved driving, even though the experiance is completely different to that of riding a bike to me it has it's own merits. But in a striaght competition between the two a bike is hugely more fun and Im on a 125 at the moment...

If bikes are "far far superior" why are you taking your driving test?

Cars are more of a necessity than bikes, don't take me wrong I ride daily and own 2 bikes.

But if there had to be a choice, then it would be the car.

There's no way I can do the shopping or take the 3 kids with me on the bike.

Unlocking my chains, taking the cover off, putting on my gear to go shops. I'd rather a car for getting about in the winter or short distance journeys.

Work give me a car so I cant complain, and I'd rather do the mileage I do in the car in the car and not on the bike.

The fun factor wins over for me every time.

For example. I was up in Aberdeen this weekend, my wife came up later (in the car) On sunday we both set off to make the journey together, her in the car, me on the bike.

As soon as she parked up back home in Dunfermline she was complaining that it's a really boring trip, whereas I on the other hand was already sitting enjoying the tv, beer in hand smiling away because i had a fantastic blast out on the bike. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I do too! I was determined not to give up on my dirving lessons, and passed second time. I then did the pass plus. I didn't like it at much. A few years passed, and I had "refresher" lessons, lots of them, and just hated it, never felt safe at all.

I can't smlell the weather, feel the wind on my face, it feels wrong, I don't like sitting in the driving position, I get pissed off when I can't filter. I hate parking, and trying to find somewhere to park etc etc etc

I've never driven a car since I had the refresher lessons and basically did a second pass plyus, despite having a full licence, I won't bother, I just don't like it at all.
