Brought for peanuts? Or simply never had huge running costs? What bike was it? What happened to it?

Any pic's? Smile

I was given a bike in bits recently. A Jawa 350. I intend to ride it down to a rally this weekend.

The FZR600 in my profile. Pretty much mint and was sold on ebay as a non runner with suspected 'drastic' gearbox failure. Thinking it would be could be worth more as parts i bid and won it for £300 Thumbs Up . Got it home and found all that was wrong was the front sprocket nut had come off...... It took a lot of will power not to ring and tell the previous owner Laughing

Unfortunately I lost it a few weeks later to a barbed wire fence, a 6ft drop the other side and a few mad sheep - rebuild in progress Wink

Paid £110 for an XS250 in 1985. Sold it in 1988 for £250. Spent about £50 on repairs on the meantime.

Cheers,

Byrnie.

Motobecane '80s moped, for £20. Never bothered getting it running, but it does work. It may not have been the best buy, I couldn't give it away on here. Laughing

This isn't actually the boa I swapped for the bike, but it gave the perfect opportunity to show off my big girl.. These pics are quite old, at the moment she's 8 foot long and as thick as my leg Smile

The boa I swapped was a 6 footer.

Yeah some just don't get very big, how old is yours? I also have a male she lives with, he is just under 6 foot and about half her girth. He won't get much bigger. She definitely is genetically gifted in terms of size.. She'll easily eat four XL rats (1 lb rats) in a feeding session every 10 days. And if I take her out and she doesn't want to go back in her viv, she wraps round my leg and there is no chance of getting her off, she is immensely strong.. very hard work to hold her more than a couple of minutes, as she is really heavy too.

They can be real stubborn.. Also when mine is out she tried to explore, and its difficult to control her as her reach is huge - as can be seen in picture. I have to run round backwards to stop her slithering off onto furniture.

I would also up your rat size/amount if I was you, he won't grow much after the next 6 months so you want to condition him for max size/health by that time. PM me if you want to chat, we might be hijacking this thread!

So what would you do with no legs? Laughing

I bought an old CB650 Chop from a mate for 100 quid. Cut down back end, steel side panels, mustang tank and matt black. Had 2 years of blasting around in an open faced lid for fuck all maintenance costs, did thousands of miles, then flogged it for 100 quid, and they were getting a bargain too. Thumbs Up
