Its one of those old 'is it worth the risk of getting it wrong things' scratches probably mean it hit the floor at some point, even if it aint hard you never know what damage is internal etc.

If in doubt the head is the 2nd most important bit to look after (the first of course is..... the bike Mr. Green ) so i'd say go for it an get a new one. Maybe keep that one for a dodgy spare for use in a fix?

hmmm, if it didnt have a solid impact and simply got caught up in the barbed wire then it may be OK - however I dont know what the impact was like or how deep the scoring is on the lid

Was your head in it at the time?

If it was then the compressed foam lining would have been slightly deformed slowing the velocity of your head.

The nature of helmets means they only really do this once.

me personally any damage my lid suffers gets replaced. i still dont get the price of lids ill expalin what i mean......

ok buy a cheap lid say £50 hit a brick wall and ya brain splatters all over it coz the lid id naff.

so buy an expansive lid say £200-£300 whatever, hit brick wall and coz the lid doesnt break your neck breaks and your dead anyway

Yeah but your face is intact for that open coffin... Sick

Its not just the protection factor really, although i'm pretty sure a get what you pay for does apply to a degree.

You also pay for weight (or lack of), comfort, noise reduction, steaming up/vents, markup on the name. You will notice it if you ever try on a cheapo helmet then find the most expensive helmet in the shop just for a laugh. Difference is often quite astounding.

So even if you neck snaps, it'll have been nice an quiet and comfy beforehand. Mr. Green

there's more than enough elasticity in a wire fence that your helmet probably hasn't suffered any shock loadings that would compress the internal foam. If you can be 100% sure it didn't hit anything solid, then I'd be inclined to keep using it, as long as the scratches are purely cosmetic, and there's no damage to the shell.

the scratchs are not deep deep, guess at 1mm at the wrose and not all along the lid but i cant be sure that i didnt slide past the fence and head touched ground it happed fast and tbh wasnt extally checking wear my head hit, it may be ok but it may not, best stop off at hein gericke and see what they got end of line.

Best just to get a new lid dude, the polystyrene is designed to deform only once so if you fall and twat your head again it won't absorb as much energy from the impact and you could be a lot worse off.

It is a pain in the arse though, I bought a new Caberg lid in September and crashed last Tuesday, £100 well spent Thumbs Up
