Maybe cover half of it, cardboard will do fine but it'll be a bit mankey when it rains Sheet of aly or plastic maybe..
Another hting is to check your thermostat is working correctly, if its jammed oped it'll be running cold water arround the engine all the time which will make warming up the engine take aaaaages, you can check it by feeling the pipes running out of it allthough the "propper" way is to take the thermostat off and put it in some boiling water, the bit inside should move @80Âșc or so (ish afaik)put it this way if its not move in going from normal temp to boiling then its stuck/knackered) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Strips of gaffa tape is the usual for racers.
Makes it a bit easier to 'tune' the amount of heat you're getting . |

| Quote: | How do you mean 'die'? Stalling when pulling away due to a slow idle? | when on mway, at around 4thou rpm I could feel it spluttering, if I backed off the throttle it would die and I'd have to drift onto the hard shoulder to flcik into neutral and start again. It's idling fine, I'd turned it up a little a week or two ago, makes some interesting back fires after overtakes, enough to make one car brake so hard I saw the bonnet dip.
it gets upto temp fine around town and stays there, bu ton the motorway yesterday unless I was craling at 40 the temperature was diving down...

not sure on the location of those, will look in haynes when I'm sticking the new battery in later.

I was thinking printed car board, so it wouldnt get too soggy. Not got any gaffa tape, only electrical and it's not very sticky. ____________________ Insta - FemFeral |

If it's conking out on the move your cure isn't to be found by blocking airflow to the radiator. It might well stop it from conking out but you won't have cured the problem. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
