I stripped one usd fork leg on my yzf750 to fit a new seal. I was going to do the pair but it was a nightmare job so just did the one that leaked!! never again!

Hope you are using official Suzuki seals. Fitting pattern seals to a RWU fork and having them leak within a week is friggin frustrating. It'll be 20x that if you fit them to a USD fork. Neutral

I don't really know about USD forks and havent worked on them but a mate done his infront of me and he done his by himself. Bought a £70 spring compressor right enough but he didn't describe it as anything particularly difficult. Confused

Having done a few USD forks myself I would advise buying one of those purpose built fork seal drivers for driving the seals and rings back in.

These things:

As well as seriously reducing the risk of buggering the new seal or damaging the fork, they also make the job take less time and require less exertion. Definately worth buying.
