i keep seeing goodridge oil lines on ebay, when searching for bits for my 98 bandit, the picture on the ad shows the lines running from the crank case to the head and then across the top, will these lines significantly increase the flow of oil through the engine, and are there any other benefits to fitting these, the set cost's around 70 pound, which isn,t much if they do somthing.

Do you mean the lines that join the two cam end caps?? they are around that price on ebay,if so they do bugger all unless you also have the T piece in them that joins them to the M8 allen bolt hole just above that does have a bit of a pressure feed and can help a bit. If it's something else post a link so I can see exactly what you're on about.

Will better oil flow actually help your engine?
Would have thought it's only useful on a tuned engine.

Suspect they are more sold to be stronger than bigger diameter - remember the braided bit adds extra width, also oil flow is still going to be limited by the nozzles to some degree I'd have thought.

Can't say I've seen the cam ends connected to a lower feed before just the one that is above and slightly further back than centre on the cam cover. As G says it won't make a lot of difference on an untuned engine, the top feed does gives a bit more oil to the cam ends but if it was coming up from a main feed crankcase end it should be a fair rate and pressure.
Somewhere else on the loop will be suffering from a reduction in oil, probably not enough to cause any problems as they should have tested it's use properly....but you never know.

Besides looking fugly Shocked that's the main oil gallery plug that you use for oil pressure tests as well so it's connected to the main feed circuit. Up to you dude but I personally wouldn't use it for the cam ends it isn't as if oil starvation to the cams is a problem to start with.

Each hole on the crank and cam oil feed is bigger the further they are
down the line so as to equal out the flow.Adding something in to
increase oil flow to the head will lower the flow to the crank and gearbox as they all run off the same pump.

Paddy.
