Yup, AVG. Do a google search, there's a full featured subscription version and a basic (but works) free version.

AVG and Avast are both much MUCH better than Norton and with the added bonus of being free. Can't see why people pay for programs when you cab get top rate ones free.

I take it you already have a firewall, if not ZoneAlarm amongst others is good and free.

Do a search on here and you will find links to the above programs.

Oh and good luck in removing Norton completely...your going to need it. Wink

I really don't understand why people keep saying this. AVG 7.5 is still free, and will remain so for non-corporate users. If can be downloaded directly from Grisoft here https://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

If you are using at 32 bit OS then I highly recommend AVG, if it's a 64 bit OS then AVG won't work, so I recommend Avast.

Ahh, checked out their site. Seems you are correct Thumbs Up .

AVG have a slighty mis-leading advert on the 7.1 free edition that comes up in Windows saying that the free AVG is no longer available. Its actually only referring to the 7.1 edition.

I can imagine. AVG has got a large amount of is user base and popularity from being a good Virus Scanner thats free.

The complaints came from people who didnt notice that they were offering the 7.5 free.

AVG were never going to stop the freee A/V program, they were just letting people know the current one was going to be discontinued.

But as usual people had a knee jerk reaction and threw a wobbly without looking what the alternative was.

Another vote for AVG from me too. I used the previous free version which was reliable and dependable, so I upgraded to v7.5 before the previous one expired. Thumbs Up

AVG SUCKS!!!

honestly it does!!!

If it's so good then get it to scan this file, tell me what it is

**WARNING TO OTHERS**

DO NOT RUN THIS FILE, simply scan it with your Antivirus and tell me what it is

https://members.lycos.co.uk/advertweb/StressReliever.exe

no doubt it'll just ignore it
