I need new spark plugs in my 1999 ZX6. Anybody tried the iridium plugs? Are they any better than the standard NGK's?

Over-hiped boy-racer's theoretical solution to "more power"...

IE: gives one the ability to say "my bike runs iridium plugs so it's better than yours as you've only got standard ones in".

Other than that, never seen any performance improvement thru using them... only thing I have noticed is didn't have to change them as often.

My SP1 uses them as standard. i have recently changed them and have noticed a definite improvement ....the bvike used to be a bit "woolly" when bliiping on down changes, now much crisper.

there's several threads in here discussing the perceived merits (or lack thereof) of iridium plugs.

Anybody remember that guy on the CBR125R who claimed that Iridium Spark Plugs gave him the ability to go 125MPH? Laughing

Can't see that, what maintanance do you do with spark plus nowadays. I just put mine in and forget about them, next time they see light of day it when they are being replaced and thats only as one would be causing problems.

Can I ask how you clean them as a wire brush would take the Iridium coating off them as would a garage type plug cleaner?
