Reccomend me some tyres please...

tempted to buy michelin pilot power 2ct, but just wondering wot other tyres are worth lookign at?

Been told about Conti Attacks and BT020.

Not sure what to go for though???

I'd go for the Pilot Sport 2 2CT I think it's called. The same 2CT compound as the Pilot Power, but it lasts a lot longer. I got the Power and it was great, but it doesn't exactly last long.

I'd avoid the pilot sports, they do last longer but don't offer nearly as much grip. Most people on sports don't rave about them and I know a few who have changed them immediately for something grippier.
Can't offer an opinion on the Contis, not used them, I'd not buy the 020 though, I hated them, not enough grip and 10 year old tyre technology now.
Pilot powers get rave reviews, I'd buy them especially if I did trackdays.
My personal choice is Pirelli Diablos for the road, Diablo corsas for road and trackdays (though the Diablos are good on track as well).

Another vote here for Pirelli Diablos.

Brilliant on the road, not too bad on the track. Pretty good in the wet as well.

What about budget sports?
Im gonna have maybe 120 for new hoops.

I dont commute so they dont really have to be hard wearing (although im on the rear wheel alot of the time, and with new brakes and tyres i want to learn getting on the front).

I'd recommend the conti road attacks. I have them on my hornet and they're great, good enough for peg down and I find them much more confidence inspiring than the bridgestone's I had before, also I've put about 5000 miles on them and they still look like they have alot of life left. My last tyres were shagged after 4500.

Depends on your bike and your riding style... there isn't just one great tyre choice for everyone because theres so many variables

I had Bridgestones 014's and 020's on my thuindercat as well as the 020 equivilent with avon azaro St's.

The Azaro's and 020's for instance, were great on my Cat because the tyre is aimed at the sports tourer market, the 014's wern't as great on my cat but when i fitted 014's to my Fireblade they performed brilliantly... because they're aimed at a different class of bike

I've only just today ordered a pair of Diablos for the Blade as i've heard a good thing and it sounds like they suit my riding style...

Well mainly traffic light gp's, wheelies, and occasionally (especially if the tyres improve confidence) thashing it down some twisty A roads.

And its a 96 CBR 600

Just after a good compromise.

And trust me, im going from squared off, old, macadams , the only way is up.

I have to at least get a better front as the macs slide out on my spongey brakes ive got now, let alone with new discs, braided lines and well bled.

i have used pilot sports throughout winter on the thundercat and the only time i had a problem was when i didnt have my front tyre at the correct p.s.i. which is to be expected on any tyre.

other than that no problems at all.

Try the ebay shop RoundAndBlack, I got some conti road attacks there for 125ish for the pair, they usually have deals on

150 quid fitted really isn't that bad though... especially considering how long the conti's last.

I have the conti road attacks aswell on my FZR.

Its the first time I've used them, they were on the my bike when I got it and they've been great so far, have a cool tread patten aswell .
Unless they suddenly wear out really quickly or something I'l definatly stick with them when I buy new tyres.
