Hey all

I'm a regular player of F.E.A.R online but when I'm trying to host a game with a mate he can never see my server on the gaming list, even though I can!

I swear the settings are correct, I run a dedicated server etc and have a fast enough pc to cope with online gaming. Anyone have any basic ideas as to what may be going wrong?

I've also tried using Xfire but get the same problems, when he hosts it tends to work (though not all the time). If I join a game already on there I have no prob's whatsoever!

Erm only a vague guess but try sv_lan 0 in the console?

I presume you're playing over the internet and not on a LAN?

Thanks,

You should have a key on your keyboard below the escape key to the left of 1... "`"

Press that when connected to your server and type sv_lan 0...

Or go into your server.cfg (I presume fear has one) and insert the sv_lan command in there somewhere.

Well in some games sv_lan is set to 1 by default to stop people from the internet joining games you've hosted to play in your house on a network.

Say you've got 4 PCs and you invite some friends round for a game, when you create the server it automatically blocks internet people from joining Smile
