my mechanically minded friend has just offered to remove the carb strangelers for me, I'm so tempted.

only got about 23 months left to wait ( not that i'm complaining, 33 bhp is proving to be enough of a handfull tbh )

pass, just been on a 8 mile cycle.. well 1 mile cycle 7 mile walk push bike with two flat tyres... so many punctures, 14 in the rear Rolling Eyes

going out to rutland water tomorrow, meet at 11 at Aunty ruth's Diner on the A5 nr Hinkley if you fancy it

I could of taken the washers out at any time, but didn't fancy the hassle if I was pulled over of putting them back in/taking them out etc... plus I paid alot of moneyjust to be on my moral high horse..

Nice going simple, I never had a restricted bike, always felt a bit dodgy about it in the younger years Confused

Now you can see what you've been missing Wink any bikes in mind?

Why do people insist on doing this? If you wanted to ride an unrestricted bike then you should have done the Direct Access instead. It really is a mystery why people take that option and then go on to break the law for the best part of two years when they could have just done it the legal way in the first place.

Actually it's not such a mystery, you can't do direct access at 17.. or 18 19 or even 20...you have to be 21 to do it..
so if you're 17 and take your test and want a derestricted gsxr at 18.. you've got to break the law you have no choice..

Just this one for now, see if it's 'enough' oomph for now, would rather have a cheaper bike to run and do more miles than a pretty one and be limited.

Exactly god knows why people keep saying that, it keeps confusing me in thinking DAS may be avliable at 17.

I know that but the guy that I quoted in my original post was old enough and eligible to do his direct access. In fact in one of his other posts he commented that he did the restricted test instead because it was cheaper than the direct access one. Then only one month after gaining his restricted licence he mentions about derestricting his bike...
