I am going there next week for a uni open day, and then to look around the city a bit, what places of interest should I go to/look out for?

There is the Royal Armouries if you have enough time. West Yorkshire playhouse if you have even more time. Armley Mills if you have your own transport. Aside from that theres not really that much to look at really, if you could be more specific about the things you are after I can maybe help you abit more?

well, popular places, i.e. shopping areas, entertainment areas.
Also are there any areas with lots of bike shops? - I know about Eddy's Triumph, and intend to go there to buy a T-shirt which I like the look of. What is to see at "the Royal Armouries" ?

There is loads, and it is free. Allsorts of weapons and armour from accross history, Google it for more details.

Shopping is good in the town centre, which is where the Uni is so no problems there. Also if you have transport there is the White Rose in Dewsbury. Entertainment complex near Eddy Wrights, has a 'Vue' a Hollywood Bowl, McDonalds and a gym. Also some more fancy restaurants. It is on Kirkstall Road. Also up the road from Eddys is Armley Mills which I mentioned, I hear the carpark is great for dogging. If you ask Eddy there is another Triumph dealer just off Stanningley Road, as the one on Kirkstall Road is his Hardly Rideable shop. There is Colin Appleyards, Heine Gericke and J&S Accessories in town, near the Playhouse, a quick Google will tell you how to get there.

cheers, that was helpful. I am going on the train, so I won't have my own transport.
And Tom, I am looking at Leeds Uni (NOT Met).
