Was that a genuine Cobra?

Sounded good, but didn't think too much to the modern dials.

Also, correct me (if you can prove) I'm wrong, but there's no such thing as an AC Cobra.

It's a Shelby Cobra, or an AC Ace (not the same car at all).

The AC Cobra was technically an AC Ace but with a different engine.

As I understand it, and I may be wrong, the AC Ace had some wheezey European engine in it.

They re-released it with an American V8 under the hood and renamed it the Cobra.

Oh, and undoubtedly it isn't a "real" one, as in an original. It'll be a kit car, with some modern engine and a third party copy of the chassis and bodywork.

I think the Cobra was modified, it could perhaps be the shelby but with a few quid spent on it.

The RSV rider didnt attempt knee down, he seemed relaxed on the road, and didnt push it to the limit.

The Cobra doesn't seem that fast. Sounds like it's just running a straight 4/6 on throttle boddies.

Looked to be a good rider, i just don't think he was wanting to push it too much.

Beautiful, New Zealand is petrol head paradise. They actually have carparks specifically for V8s.

The video description suggests 350hp for the Cobra, which in all fairness is probably a slightly built 289 ford block.

I believe there were 3 stages of the cobra, the original was the AC Ace, which handled alright but was gutless with the standard straight 6. The AC Cobra was built by AC and had the Ford 289 block (4.6 litres) in it, which was actually lighter than the original straight six (2.6 litres I believe), and the last stage was the fire breathing Shelby Cobra 427, 7.0 litres and 425 horspower in a car that weighed little over a ton back in the 60's must have been intimidating to say the least.
