Great,
Very Happy 8)

I havent ridden with other 2strokes before most of my m8s have 125
4 strokes which are pretty slow. Rolling Eyes

I havent seen many other NSRs around this way.
Mines the old model but its still good 4 90-100mph, will you be derestricting yours once its run-in. what colour ru getting.

Do you know were there are any big bike meets this way (boxhills a bit far) I go to Hemsley, scarboro & whitby theres usualy 150 odd bikers there. Very Happy

Well with the scooter its not really ideal for going to bike meets, id be a bit embarrased to be honest, it only does 60mph :S

Im getting the tri-color NSR, if youve been to White Bros latley its the one in there just opposite the parts counter.

Yep ill be takign the ristrictions out ones it run in

I don't think that it'll make a difference when you derestrict it...it's not about speed, but the revs...If you intend to follow the manufacturers recommendations with a restricted bike you can expect to be travelling at 45mph tops (believe me, I know!)...but I can't actually tell you how fast a de-restricted NSR will go at 5k on the tacho...

I'm seeing someone about an RVF tomorrow, and if everythings good, then I'll be trading my NSR in...otherwise, I'll probably derestrict on the weekend...

How many miles do they need to do before they are "run-in"?

Basically how long is it gonna be till i can open it up Wink

Well, again, it depends on what guide you're following...if you are gonna do it by Honda's recommendations, then you will need to do 1000 miles before the bike is regarded as "run-in"...there are different stages, which are outlined in the owner's handbook...

...that's why 2nd hand bikes are often sensible alternatives...but there's nothing like a new bike!

Here is how a few of us ran our bikes in
0-300miles under 5k
300-400 mls under 6k
400-500 mls under 7k
500-600 mls under 8k etc etc.
this introduces the bike to the revs rather than sitting at 5k for 500miles
then thrashing it also remember to alternate your speeds dont sit at one speed for ages as this will glaze the piston.

Another one from Co. Durham! good to know.

I was reading this months Bike magazine and they had the A68 in their 'great roads' section at the back- so I was thinking that we should all meet up somewhere then take the A68 and A69 to westgate road in Newcastle- what do you think?

I don't know any one to ride with (apart from my dad) but even if I did my bike's not on the road yet unfortunately. I'm gonna ring the garage tomorrow and find out what the hell they're doing with it.

I would let it run in before derestricting it & get used to it first then derestrictit when the engines a bit looser.
Remember to let it warm up well and once its run in i would change to a good oil such as castrol TTS (i run mine on it & its still feels good at 25000 miles) ,not whilst its running in though and ask the dealer what oils in at the moment to see if they are compatible.
Can you ride a manual bike at the mo or r u retaking your CBT on 1.
