Hiya,

I've been going to the gym for a couple of years now and have built up a reasonable amoutn of muscles in my arms and pecs. However, if you look at the pic, the muscles indicated by the red lines dont seem to want to develop very much at all.

Anyone know what they are called and how I can work on them?

Cheers!

Obliques are hard to develop, try weighted side bends and twisting exercises. Sit ups and crunchies with a twist will also help.

LOL I get asked that quite a lot. For some reason body hair starts at my waist and works its way down! I look stupid, thick hairy legs and the chest of a 15 year old!

Thanks for the pics btw!

To be honest, its something that any gym trainer should've told you when asked.

Lewis why didn't you ask me?!? You should know I just passed my gym course!! They're your Lats (latissimus dorsi), if you're at the gym use the Lat pull down and the seated row... or were you just trying to get the guys on here to send you naked pictures of themselves too???

(I know the lats are the sides of the back but I'm guessing you want muscle wings??)

I hate to argue about this, but they are not his lats.

https://www.bodybuilding-bodyfitness.com/pic/muscles170x150/latissimus_dorsi.gif

Lats give the individual the V shape that body builders crave. The muscle group he highlighted were his obliques.

https://www.dolfzine.com/FrontMuscles.jpg

When the lats are developed to a huge extent then encrouch onto the front, just check out this for definition. For the best example of body buiding and defintion, google Flex Wheeler Thumbs Up

If my dirt bike dies for whatever reason and I have to push it to solid ground wher eI can then climb on and kick start it.. the next day my bliques hurt like mad...

I'd assume because I'm twisted over the bars and pushing foward in mud...

..so LH - get a dirt bike that's too tall for you to start without the sidestand down Laughing

I have to say in Lewis' defence, just because he's gay doesn't mean he's going to fancy every guy he meets! Rolling Eyes
