Video file convertor

Does anyone know where i can download a good video file convertor. I'm trying to convert an AVI file to DVD at the mo, but if there is a convertor that can do other file formats as well then that would be a bonus.

I used to use Cucusoft which did the jobby. But could take a while.
Not sure of others but try that - its free

I use convertxtodvd

Seems to be quicker than using Nero and the like.
