Right, I'm a bit thick #2

I've recently heard people saying "torrents are good, if you know how to use them" or "you can set them up to work better for you."

I'm a bit confused by this, I use torrents (BitComet if it makes any difference) and I can't understand how I could make it work 'better,' surely it's a case of just telling it to download, and it doing it?

Or am I missing something blindingly obvious?

Once again, sorry for what is more than likely a very silly question!

What you need is the torrents you download to have a high number of seeders, the higher the number the faster you will download.

If you want superfast speeds then try, supertorrents.com, youll need a invite and you will need to share the data you download, i.e. download 1gb, and will need to upload 1gb as well. This can be annoying but thats the way it works and that why you get good speeds.

Also check out demonoid.com fridays is free registeration day, well it was the last time I checked.The torrent client i use is Utorrent.

Or you can pay like 8 quid a month and dont bother will all this running around and download directly 1 to 1 from a fast server and pasy 8 quid a month > www.newshosting.com

When I download a torrent, I always upload at least what I downloaded! It's only fair! Torrents would be quicker if everybody had the same morals as me.

I also always make sure I have a share ratio of at least 1.0 for my downloads. But damn! 121 hours! That seems way to long.

Peronally I'm a leeching whore, I don't upload. Reason: file SHARING is what you get busted for, file DOWNLOADING you don't seem to get busted for. I'd rather stay safe if not 100% legal.

Yup. I don't mind though. I pay for uunet access, £10 for 90GB or something. I hardly ever use it tbh.

Nearly 800gb in 126 days, I use Azureus and a few private sites for torrents so my ratio can stay quite low. Although I use IRC to get most of my stuff
