NSR Swingarm Spindle

hi, sorry to post this in main but need the coverage...

im having major problems removing the swingarm on the NSR, the suspension linkage was a bitch to remove as was the rear shock.

on the left hand side of the swingarm spindle I have managed to loosen the hex nut. however on the right side of the bike im having major problems with that silly (locking nut?) that is round with square raised edges.

does anyone know the name of the wrench head i need to remove this bugger and can it be bought from Halfrauds?

I have tried tapping it with a screwdriver and a hammer but as its sunk behind the frame i risk wrecking the paint and also the screwdriver is only denting the damn nut Evil or Very Mad

any help/tips/advice would be really really helpful Thumbs Up

Get a tube of steel of the same diameter and use a hacksaw or angle grinder to make it into the right shape. All you gotta do then is drill a hole in the other end of the tube, put another instrument (probably a screwdriver) through that hole, and sorted. you can then just use it like a box spanner!

Honda must have a special tool for it, the scamming gits!

It's a honda special tool, and blow me if I didn't make up a tool to take one of those of just last weekend. First attempt failed because I made it from steel tube that just was not strong enough. In the end, had to kill a long reach 22mm socket - cut four posts out of it, 4mm wide at 0,90,180,270 degrees. Use the gentle touch of an angle grinder or you'll be there all day.

well i had a good look in my garage and we dont have any 20/21mm poles Evil or Very Mad

this little nut is a pain in the arse to remove, are the likes of infinity or halfrauds likely to sell an adapter? any bodge I try to remove it is just starting to destroy the paint around the nut or just damage the nut its self Evil or Very Mad

any other help or advice?

i just found a price honda want for a locknut wrench (think its compatible with mine) and its $67.60 thats crazy lol
