FWIW

Aldi are selling a compressor again from the 1st of March for £60 with an accessories kit. I brought one two years ago and, apart from the wheels working loose every now and then and the air hose going stiff, its worked really well.

Also selling:

Air drill £13
Impact driver £17
Air Rachet £16

All very cheap when compared to Machine Mart and the like plus it all comes with 3 years warranty.

I recommend the impact driver, I brought one last year and its earned its money on the bike. Ive used it to strip brake calipers, forks, release sprocket nuts, and its makes a beautiful sound Very Happy

I've had one for a few years as well - it's actually exactly the same as one of the models sold in machine mart for twice the price.

Might need to make a trip across town for that impact wrench.

finpos.

not to sound naive, but what would be the advantage of buying the compressor and impact driver set (£80 total) over just using the normal hand tools you have currently?
don't think i could justify buying it just to tighten/undo stuff Confused

Hi

Good for lazyness, and if you have an impact driver will tend to shift things that are difficult to do by hand.

Plus blowing up tyres.

Plus using compressed air to blow rubbish away from the plug wells and the like.

All the best

Keith

They pay teams of Eastern Europeans to do it instead, or so my lazy flatmate does.

Maybe they use a bucket of water to wash it and a dustpan and brush to clean it?

I've had a compressor in the garage for a few years now. Whether it's for blowing up tyres, removing seized bolts, blowing air round something, drilling, taking wheels off etc you wouldn't be without one for handyness.

Shocked I'm seriously tempted by that air kit too. Thumbs Up Cool
The impact driver in particular, possibly the ratchet too... and the added opportunity for shotblasting some rust from the swingarm of the GPZ at some point.
I could have done with that air chisel this week too, when I was taking up some flooring tiles Evil or Very Mad
