A silly question!

If you pass your test your test before this date (not including DAS), can you still ride after your 2 year restriction any size bike? Or will you have to complete this new test?

I have looked at several sites explaining the new test but none of them explain this. Is it me just being stupid?

To be honest the off-road course looks simple (diagram in that link above somewhere).
Not much more than what you do on CBT.

I thought they were making you do more tests not just adding an extra off-road element to the beginning of the practical test.

Although I really don't give a toss as long as they get rid of my 33bhp restriction on 19th Feb 2009.

edit year

You should be able to, because you have passed your test and will start the two year period.

They can't expect you to take a new test, in the same way that people who already have a full license won't have to take their test again.

Laughing

"9. How will you measure my speed?

The examiner will use highly accurate speed measuring equipment but the precise nature of the equipment is still to be determined."

I'd like to see that

It'll just be the same equipment they have in police cars, mounted onto a bike. Rolling Eyes

But won't the instructor for the new manoeuvres be simply stood by the side watching, not following behind on a bike

For the off road section anyway Confused

By off road they mean in a carpark, I had visions of greenlanes. mud, fallen treees and rock hopping.

This user group have been identified as having a high risk of injury or death. This is particularly the case for young and inexperienced riders.

Yet they fail to tackle the root cause of this, by introducing a more stringent car test.....
Perhaps as part of ALL other tests a CBT should be part of the training to raise awareness of other road users.

Now that would be a real good idea, for introducing total bike control in non ideal condition's, something many roads are like on a daily basis.

Why not just make a road safety/first aid course compulsory no matter what type of vehicle you drive?

That way people will have more of an idea of what to do in the event of an accident.

That doesn't look too bad. I would have thought that anyone who can do the test now would have no problem with that off road bit.

To my way of thinking, that is more likely to be beneficial than any more power restriction crap ideas that they may come up, so for once the eec might actually be doing bikers a favour. Shocked

Is this just changes to the test or changes to the acutally categories??

I thought the categories were safe until 2012.
