I normally ride with the baffles in, but may be having a problem with the exhaust at the moment, so it sounds really rough

Sound good to start with but soon get tiresome after a while. Everyone I know that has taken them out only uses the bike as either a toy or for short distances.

With finga on this one.

I had the baffles out for about 2months.
Then realised they were too annoying, so popped em back in.

took em back out for my weekend blast around the Lakes though :p

Agreed,

Had mine out for a while, and then realised i was riding better with them in because i could take it to the redline without making such a racket, most of the time, i like to blend in with traffic not stick out like a sore thumb.

I also think on my zx6r it sounds better with them in anyway cause the induction sounds so awesome!

Straight through is the only way. I've ridden my bike for hours and hours at a time, and didn't find it annoyed me too much, because I don't 'hoon' for extended periods.

Mines dual exit so I found having 'one in-one out' was a nice compromise. Plus being a v-twin the high revs arent that much of a problem!!

I had a scorpion on my old GSXF, could only stand around 40 mins riding with the baffle out but all day with it in Very Happy

Scorpion stated that the bike wouldn't need re-jetting with the exhaust on but with the baffle removed the back-fires through the exhaust on the overrun was terrible, so back in it went.

May change my mind when I fit the new Quill to my 7R Mr. Green Mr. Green

I got a new high level Remus exhaust for my SV today.

Looks good but will need abit more coaxing if its going to fit properly, taking the existing can off exposed a large dent in the downpipes just at the rear end, not happy about that, but happy about how it sounds with no exhaust at all.

My BOS exhaust came with a leaflet explaining how to take the baffle out which also said that there would be a reduction in HP if you did.

Exhausts without baffles just makes me think of chavs in 1L corsas, loud but nothing under the bonnet.

you saying "

No I typed the word think, its similar to talking to yourself but without opening your mouth.
I see a bike going quick, I think 'thats a fast bike' I hear a over the top loud bike and I think 'Your point is?' Both thoughts can be considered opinions, not necessarily the truth.

Hi

The Bandit has an Akrapovic full system with a removeable baffle, but the baffle stays in most of the time. Difference in power is tiny (same day, standard carbs but jetted for the baffle out, 144hp and 137hp), and would prefer to do without the extra noise.

All the best

Keith

Have you looked for a exhaust that gives more than 5HP, or do you think thats as good as it gets?

That is a full titanium Akrpovic system, which with the rest of the mods is currently adding ~57hp. Think the exhaust is claimed to add about 20hp on its own. But putting the road baffle in only takes away ~5%.

All the best

Keith

Is there any diagrams explaining where he baffle is and how to take it out? I have a Beowulf can on the Zed but don't know if the baffle is removed. Please make it idiot proof Thumbs Up Karma

Sorry it was a dumb question I guess what I was trying to get to was do you think a custom made full race system would give you much more than the Akrpovic?
