Stigma attached to 1-piece leathers

Does anyone commute in one piece leathers? They've got to be the safest, but during the week you never see riders wearing them. Why don't more people wear them?

Its enough of a faff putting textiles on... A one peice leather thing? Naw, I couldn't bothered.

Also I'd look daft wearing one on a 125... A bit like wearing an asbestos suit to make toast in the oven... If you see what I mean...

If you come off and need medical attention, one piece is harder to remove than two piece.

If for example my upper leg was pissing blood and my shoulder broken, having a first aider (who has no scissors) having to rarve a one piece suit over my battered torso to get the the leg wound would be a tad inconvenient, not to mention extra painful.

That is the only reason I would choose two piece over one.

I feel a lot safer in my one piece leathers, but only wear them for weekend blasts and track days. If i choose to commute on my bike, which isnt often, then i always wear my two piece. Its easier to change at work, and also my leathers have that speed hump thing on the back. which make a rucksack hard to get on with. As generally i'm only plodding to work and back i think its ok.
I cringe when i see the same guys daily traveling the opposite way, a ZX6R and an R1 and a bandit, all in paddock jackets and jeans and trainers...To me, jeans and trainers are the biggest no no. I like my ankles and toes ta very much, not to mention my skin.

always wear my 2 piece leathers to work if it's dry... any chance of rain & it's textiles as I can't be dealing with stopping halfway to work to put my waterproofs over my leathers...

If i'm out for a good blast though it's leathers for sure

1 piece is a pain in the arse to put on/remove.

They're also cold. I happily wear my 2 piece textile suit. Means I can have my work stuff on underneath aswell. Saves faffing when I get to the office.

I wear Spada textiles for commuting, nice and comfortable in all weathers. Also convenient for work changing.

I commute in one piece leathers, its no more hassle than wearing two piece for me, I use them the whole year, when its starts getting too cold I wear thermal leggings and top, when it rains i wear light weight waterproofs over the top.

I only wear one-piece leathers. Two-piece leathers - even good ones - split at the zipper in a slide exposing your back. Most two-piece only zip on the thin fabric lining nowadays anyway which is useless. You won't notice me wearing them at this time of year because I wear a long Goretex waterproof jacket over the top to keep me warm and dry.

Yes they are a pain in the arse to get into and out of but not as much as a pain as having no skin on bits of my body.
