Hey all,
Yay got my CBT Sunday!!! woooo =]
but still have a small sized dilemma after all!
the friday after i take my cbt (cbt=sunday) im going on a geography trip to snowdonia! fun fun fun =]
as im also lookin to buy a bike do i get one before i go on the trip or do i look for one after?
will i lose what i have learnt if i dont have a bike for a week or so?
also i dont want to leave my nice new bike for 5 days and just think about it sitting there doing nout!

I'd get the bike when you come back from your trip, after all, what's more annoying than having a bike sitting there when you're miles away unable to ride it?!
I don't think you'll 'forget' what you learn on your CBT. It should all come flooding back to you as soon as you sit back on a bike.
Enjoy your CBT and your trip to Snowdonia ____________________ <CBT passed 16th Sept 2007><Theory Test passed 11th Oct 2007><Practical Test passed 19th Apr 2008>

You wont forget what you did on your CBT. At least you shouldn't.
And also, on getting a ne bike it depends. Would you rather as soon as you got back from the trip being able to ride? Or would you prefer to get back from the trip and start looking for a bke?
If it were my choice I would go for being able to ride as soon as I got back. but that is my opinion.
Good luck on your CBT! ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

I picked up my bike about three weeks or so after doing my CBT and I can assure you that you don't forget what you are taught. Well I didn't Have to admit to being nervous out on the road without the instructor's voice in my ear or behind me keeping traffic away but that's a completely different thing and is solved by experience.
Have a great time on the CBT and let us know what you think of the company (I've seen the thread in the SE Forum). |

The first time you go on the road (with your instructor) is pretty nerve-wracking. Within about 3 minutes you've got the hang of it, and I found myself doing the "CBT test" with a grin on my face!
You'll love it

Get one when the right one comes along that fits your wants an needs... would suck for you to rush into getting a bike that isnt exactly the one you wanted cause your the one who has to get on it day after day
Good luck with the CBT, although to be honest you'll probably enjoy it ____________________ Previous - Gilera DNA50 / XVS125 Dragstar/Honda CBR 600F/GSF 650 Bandit

Goodluck And let us know how it goes.
And I know what you mean on worrying about forgetting. I don't know whether too buy a bike first or not On the plus side if I pass I can go ride straight away and on the bad if I do get a bike it'll just be sitting there mocking me until I do the CBT =/. |

Just wanted a bit of help guys, thought i'd post in hear as it's related instead of starting a new thread
Basically i've got my CBT soon, but it's on an automatic when i'm getting a manual (50cc).
Are there any other courses or anything where you just get taught clutch control and things for day? i think i could practice on my road as it's a pretty quite side road but i wouldnt want to panic and drop it or anything.
Thanks,
Jack |

As far as I know it's upto you whether you learn on an automatic or manual and you can do the CBT on your own bike if you prefer, or that could depend on the company
Have you spoken to the people your doing your CBT with? |

Yes i ahve spoken to them, and included in the price you get to use one of their automatics, i won't have my manual in time for it
But i might be able to twist my dads arm and get it for my CBT. |
