hi guys im currently in hospital after being hit by a lorry last night. the lorry i think jumped a red light and turned into me after i set off from the lights. not a lot i could do. seem to recall the police came to visit me lst night to get a statement an tell me the driver failed breath test and been arrested, but i was too high off morphine and laughing gas Smile whilst the docs straightened my mangled arm to remember what they said exactly. they did say they had my bike recovered.thing is this is my first crash im insured tpft and ive only had my bike and been riding for a week. so really not too sure what i need to do in the aftermath of this all.

thanks
Garl

ride safe all Thumbs Up

Heal soon fella. Not nice to hear of another spill.

Worry about things when you get home. Then ring the insurance and leave it to them for now. Ensure you give them any police details like case no. etc.

First things first though, get better Thumbs Up

Shocked Jeez! Sounds nasty. Hope your on the mend ASAP. Karma

Like r1NSR said, just rest for a few days and worry about all that stuff when you get home.

if your only tpft, unfortunatly your going to have to pay to get your bike back unless you can get it off the other drivers insurance (could take a long time) . contact the police when your discharged, or get your parents to take your keys and registration book to wherever the cops have the bike. when my bike was "recovered" what actually happened was that a recovery agency had taken it from the side of the road without my/my parents/ or the polices permission, and not informed anybody! i had to go around every recovery agency in coleraine and demand to have my bike back, eventually one crowd said ok, its in the back lol

sorry to hear about the spill man, coming into the good weather and all, i broke my leg in oct, and am only just starting to walk unaided now!

speedy recovery man. what damage did you do to yourself?

Sorry to hear about your accident mate. As has already been said, make sure you get better first before you start worrying about your bike. Its just a bit of metal so it'll keep.

Martin Thumbs Up

Sounds nasty mate! Worry about getting better Thumbs Up

Looks like the other driver is at fault and failing a breath test just swings it more in you favour, let the third party insurance sort it out as it's their Insured who was at fault Thumbs Up

If you need anything regarding bike location, fees or anything regarding 'What Next' then please give me a PM.
I will speak with the OIC on your behalf and find out whats what.

There may be things you ask me which , for legal reasons and data protection, i simply cannot answer so please don't think i'm being arsey.

All the best on recovery. Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear of your spill, but your still here and thats the main thing.
Sounds like the police are going to screw this guy for you, I expect you'll eventually come out 'on top'.

Good luck and rest up.

Wasn't a lorry.

It was a 2 ton van, even so, he was lucky by all accounts.
