This weekend was the first time I have been out riding on the open roads with my girlfriend on the back. She wasn't feeling too well in the afternoon and actually managed to doze off on the back of the bike when we were doing about 90mph!
It was kind of cute - I could feel her head resting against my shoulder as she fell asleep - but also kind of worrying.
Also going at that speed I found I couldn't tell whether she was holding on to me around the waist or not unless I felt her hands with my hands.

Any sleeping pillion stories? Ever heard of anyone dropping off the back of the bike? She seemed quite stable on the back of the bike, but I felt the need to keep hitting her if I thought she was asleep.

It sometimes feels like Hannah is asleep on the back because of the way she 'cuddles' into me with her head resting on my shoulder etc.

The woman who works at my gym apparently fell asleep on the back of a ninja coming back from France!

I fell asleep on the back of a bike a few years ago. We'd been out to the seaside and it'd been a long day. I kept nodding off on the way home but everytime I woke up I was still clinging on, so I think instinct must have taken over!!

my GF's never fallen asleep on the back, but often rests her head on me. it's nice to know that she knows she's safe and doesn't feel the need to see where she is on the bike.
...though i was scraping the centrestand the other day going around a corner with her on the back
about time i swapped my front near-slick for a legal tyre though!

I dont know about falling asleep on the back of my bike, but Bikerbabe was pissed out of her head last night when I had to go and pick her up.


However, she seemed to cope better on the bike and I found it easier to ride with her drunk, then I do when she's sober!

Lil falls asleep on the back a fair bit, cb wasn't a problem because she lent on me or on the top box. Don't think shes slept on the vx yet.

When i was working mornings me and my mate graham went to and fro on the bike - leaving home at 3am, so we were pretty tired. He mostly slept all the way there and back for a month. Then we left the job.

Despite the initial worries that he was going to fall off, i found the handling improved when he was asleep because he leant better, being a dead weight n'all.

As for them falling off, i always ride ultra smooth with a pillion to stop them jolting, so its not a problem really.

I don't mind her dozing a bit. It's just a worry that she lets go and tumbles off the back. Maybe I could cable-tie her wrists together once she is on the bike.

I've fallen asleep on backs of bikes before - and very nearly today riding back from Gav's house in charge of a bike! Ooooooops!


A couple who live next door but one to me ride bikes, and Tina was off the road (due to poorly horses and broken bikes etc) for a while, and during that time devised a way to sleep perfectly soundly on the back of her hubby's bike (it is an X11), she shoves her hands under Mikes legs which stops her flapping about, tucks her head between his shoulders, and as a last resort the top box stops her flying off the back!

Men as pillion are more trouble than they are worth, especially when they are exactly twice your weight on a iddy bitty 400, and they have a tendancy to fidget! (/me gives evil looks at Dr Betty).
