Backfire?

On my old GSXR 600 had a yoshi tri oval can it was raw and backfired alot of the time producing blue flames. On my 636 i have a akrapovic can with the baffle removed, it dose bakfire but not much and dose not produce any flames? I know this problely makes know diffrence and im not really botherd but i just wonderd why? is it to do with the bike or the cans?

i have limited knowledge about this, but it sounds your mixtures out, and its running rich, just sticking an end can on it doesn make it gain any horse power, and doesnt mean its going to run correctly.

on most cases youl get away with it, some do need setting up.

I know you can use the kill switch but on my GSXR if you were at say 13000RPM and you came of the throttle as the revs drop it would spit out blue flames.

mine didnt do that, but now it's stubbied it does it like hell, looks and sounds mint

over run, sounds better to me, most bikes will do it, especialy with a non standard can.

i think it sounds great when it burbles and pops, back fires on the other hand just make your bike sound like chitty shitty bang bang.

(Just roll off in that gear from high up in the rev range)

Also puts alot of strain on your downpipes, gaskets and joints ect.
i used to do it alot to scare people, was a great laugh, could get about a foot long flame out the back.

Just dont do it past a copper

Im ok on my 636 not as bad as the gsxr its quiter ticking over problely, but gives a louder screem when ragging it, it gives of the odd nice sounding pop, but my gsxr was like a 24/7 fireworks display
