https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250089765710&rd=1&rd=1

Need a van and I'm going off to have a look at this in the week. What should I look out for as I'm worried that its MOT runs out in april and I dont want to be paying a fortune to get it through one.

make absolutely sure it is cold when you get there. If it isnt, then be extremely suspicious as they could be trying to hide a cold start fault.
Once up and running listen out for any heavy knocking from the bottom end etc etc.

Asides that, check for cambelt swaps and usual service history detals. Finally look for rust so take a small magnet with you and check on the sills etc for areas where the magnet wont stick which could indicate a hastily bogged up area to punt it on.

What sort of maximum payload are you likely to be carrying? If that works the ratings as per the old transits, being a 55 would indicate it has little over 1/2 ton payload

As an aside - auctions like that annoy me. Why not just drag it out and put some decent photos up as opposed to the "rammed-between-a-transit-and-the-house" sort as they invariably look to me like they are trying to hide something or they really cant be bothered with the vehicle in question. I also would like to know what mileage is on it as they have omitted that from the listing too.

It looks reasonably clean, although the pics could do with being better as mentioned earlier.

I prolly wouldn't pay any more than the £400 it's on though; I just sold my Ford Courier 50TD van for £550 on Ebay, and that was 5 years newer (2000), but it did need some small bits doing (windscreen-mot).

Thumbs Up

As Phil said, when you ring up to view (reccomend view before buying!) ask them not to start it or drive it or warm it up before you come and you specifically want to start from cold.
My car sometimes makes a funny tapping sound when it's cold, goes once it's warm though!

Don't like the look of te pictures...for each one the van has been moved, the gaps are different at the sides for each one?!?

Why not just go onto the road and take photos in bright light with space around it? No pictures of the rear of the vehicle either, why?

Approach with care!
