anyone listen to radio 2 today at about 11'00 o'clockish about them voting for bikes to be banned aswell as other vehicles. the people givin the reason why bikes should be banned was so stupid one woman said coz she drives on a busy road a lot of the time and she finds it hard enough to concentrate on the normal traffic nevermind bikes when there filtering. I mean what all these people where basically saying is that we should ban any thing that is not a car.

Now if they banned cars, would the accident rate fall ? Most likely not, but the death rate sure would...

Like them wanting to ban vans and hgv's. FFS how do they thing anyone will get stuff to the shops.....

The second part of the show was worse, that was about lorries.

Why not listen tomorrow, you'll hear all the same stuff again except they'll be talking about horses or tractors or white vans etc.... it's on all week.

If you feel so hard done by Rolling Eyes vote in their poll.

Great..

I will go and sign on then.. wonderful way to keep the masses employed....

I would also like the definition of a "van" Do they mean any LGV or are the car based ones ok (even though they too are vans?)

I vote to ban anything driven by myopic S.M.I.D.S.Y inclined morons Evil or Very Mad

I was going to vote in their poll, but it doesn't let you vote for uninformed radio presenters so I emailed them instead. I suggest everyone else does the same. Maybe he will get the message.

I voted tractors because of the mess they leave after them. Nothing worse than coming round a corner and half a muddy field has been dragged onto the road which will never ever be cleaned off.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time - it's just something to keep people amused as these sort of polls always get peoples' blood pressure up.

Rise above it, and don't sink to their level.

I listened to that show :oops

In my view the roads would be allot safer if all elderly drivers, School run and those who passed by some miracle were banned from them.

Most of the people that sent their views in fall under one of them categories.

Horse, Foreign drivers who have not sat an EU standard test, Old fogies who can't see, react or hear properly. People smoking and driving.

OAP's should not be able to drive unless between the following times 09:30am -- 16:00 then from 19:00pm -- 06:30am
This would give those who work a better chance to get there.
All OAPs should undergo a human form of the MOT each year to assess their suitability to be in control of a mechanically propelled vehicle.

I wouldn't worry about radio 2's midday listeners. They're all saddos with no lives of their own who just want to mess with your but have no power to do so, so they think that calling up a radio show will make them feel that little bit more important down the local womans institute/local saloon bar on a Thursday teatime/early evening.

I must admit, I sued to listen to Jeremy Vine and still listen to radio 2, stuck in an office through the day now though so missed this.

The thing about his show is that its target audience are narrow minded nimby middle englanders, this type of poll would be right up their street.

I've heard the ads for the poll, I don't think you can put anything off the road; its just a safety valve for lots of uptight middle class arseholes to vent their spleen.

That said Cool 4x4's anywhere other than in muddy fields should be banned. Oh, and old people. Ummm, and tractors at peak times. Erm, busses at peak times, (I know I know... But they're just rolling road blocks...)

Oh aye! Most importantly, anything that isn't powered by a carbon based fuel, namely: Stupid pedestrians and militant vegetarian cyclists.

When the woman said bikes should be banned because it's too difficult to concentrate on bikes and cars, what she actually meant was:

I'm a really shit driver with limited attention and very limited driving skills, i drive by looking at the taillights of the car in front of me. Rather than doing something to sort out my problem, everyone else who interferes with my blinkered and myopic driving shouldn't be allowed out, because i will eventually crash into them and it will be entirely my fault.

Thumbs Up
