Bikes with underseat exhausts

hi,

i'm looking to get my first bike in october and i would really like to get a bike with underseat exhausts. just wondering if any of you know any models that have this. obviously i cant get the ducatis with these exhausts but if anyone has any other bikes i can look up it would be very helpful

also i would like to know bikes which have twin exhausts.

Underseat: MV F4, Various Dukes, Sachs XTC125, VFR800, anything else you take to dynomite with about £1000.

Hi

Is it a large engined bike or a 125 that you want? Only 125 I can think of with under seat exhausts is the Sachs XTC (oh, and the early Cagiva Freccia C9 from about 1987).

To be honest ben almost all bikes can have underseat exhaust systems made up especially for them by companies like Zorstec, Dynomite etc. and some frame specialists as well.

thing is i really don't know what bike to get, because i wanted a vfr400, but insurance was really high, so i looked at the suzuki sv650s which had a low insurance quote, but i wasn't too keen on the styling. so i thought the underseat exhausts might look good, but it seems stupid to spend that much money on getting the exhausts.

also, my favorite bike at the moment is the buell xb9r, are there any bikes that have similar styling to that?

How big is your budget? And rmemeber if your getting a mint bike insurance will be more. And do you have kit etc?

ok here is the score. i will have £5000

this must pay for

1)lessons, and test(around £400)
2)protection (good set around £500)
3)bike
4)insurance

and a bit left over for petrol

so i could get around £4000 for bike and insurance

Have you riden at all before? Test is £48, theory is £25 or something like that so however many lessons you need will determine the rest.

Leathers: £300 upwards
Boots: £100 upwards
Gloves £50 upwards
Helmet: £100 upwards

You say a bit left over for petrol? How long has this got to last you? And your bike will also want stuff like tyres, oil, pads, chains, sprockets and stuff like that. Evil bastards these bikes they are!

Stlying is obviously a major factor of your desicion, but just a few thoughts:

You might find you actually enjoy *riding* bikes as well as looking at them. In which case you might decide you want/wanted to spend your money on something that has the emphasis on performance.

It is quite likely you will crash a first bike (I almsot crashed the bike I just got today at the second turning on the way home and I've been riding for years Smile

). Some people are carefull and manage not to, but most people do, just getting used to the way the bike works and it's/your limits, whatever they intended on doing.
How about considering getting a tattier/not so pretty bike for a bit (something like an oldish cb500?). Learn to ride and decide what you want out of bikes for your next one.

Saying all that, 'Viper' got herself a Ducati 748, despite all our protests about value etc, she is very happy with it. So in the end maybe you should just go with your heart. It's your money in the end.

otherwise renegade are known for making a ducati 916 underseat pipes for the sv650/s sound amazing! but cost about 800 quid, but you can pick up an sv for 2000 pounds onwards then spend the £££ on it!

thats a damn good point G!

i am what is technically known as a speed freak and would like to go for the fasted bike i can afford to get insurance and pay for!

but i am not going to skint on protection, i have decided the full leathers, boots, gloves, and helmet that i am getting which came to just over £500 i think,

i know you will say that i shouldn't get a really fast bike to start (my old R6 thread again!), but trust me when i say that i will not do anything stupid until i am confident, hell i didn't put my foot down in my car until about a month after passing!

so any chance you could come up with two lists

1) the quickest bikes
2) good looking bikes

because i don't know much about bikes(although i am learning)

i was looking at a gsx-r 600 which was lower insurance than an nc30, what do you think of that?

Old GSXR600s were known to be very peaky... you had to rev them a lot to get any kinda decent power. That may be a good thing for a first bike though.

It's worth at least sitting on some bikes to get a feel for them first, you might deceide you don't like the riding position just sitting on it.

Insurance aint going to be great at with no previous experience.
