After all the trouble James and I have had with bikes (his not working, mine getting theived), we FINALLY had a biking holiday together! YAY!

We headed up to the Peak district with a tent (and my parents following in the tank!) and some silver tyre paint (it wasn't my idea honest Wink ). Whence it began to rain. It didn't stop raining for two days, so much so James invested in waterproof RonHills for climbing in. So we spent two days splashing in mud and drinking copious amounts of real ale.

Then the sun broke! HURRAH! Our final day, and the roads dried out. So we headed up to Glossop for a run down the Snake Pass.

We loved it so much we had lunch at the end and rode back again. It's a really beautiful area, and the road is awesome. Great corners and mainly reasonable tarmac.

Any one else been on the road (especially you Northerners - no excuses!)?

Woodhead's good and fast but Smake's nice and twisty. Rode it a few times and had some funkily scary moments Very Happy

Awwww don't tell me about scary moments! Nobody warned me about the friggin' lumps in the road (though bless the Northerner's hearts they told me where the piggies graze)!

I took off from one and nearly missed the following corner! Oooops!
