SQ were 3 chord boys surely? Any of that MC shit that Killa does makes me want to laugh. Nothing against him personally, it's just the music that is a load of shite.

This confirms you've never actually seen anything but your average drum and bass night in your town.
Your missing out a lot of derivatives. Granted you might not like electronic music, but don't tarnish it all with the same brush.

Absolutely. Thumbs Up

Thing is though, for some reason listening to that sort of stuff for more than a couple of minutes makes me very very angry. Confused It's wierd, and a bit scary. When the family Chavscum was still living here he was well into his dance music and it was not unknown for me to stomp upstairs and rip the tapes or cds out of his stereo and chuck em out of the window! Embarassed

On a more individual note, pretty much anything that Rush did after about 1980. I detest them. I despise them. I don't understand them. I got taken to see them at Wembley Arena in abot 1983 and I actually fell asleep in my chair, much to the embarrasment of my then-boyfriend who was a HUGE fan! Laughing The just don't float my boat at all.

Oh and shouty metal/emo. Why play good music then shout and scream all over it? Confused Get someone in who can actually sing FFS! Surprised

Drum & Bass, "Garage" (I thought that's where you put your bike!?) "House" (I thought that's where people live!?) Trance - some of it's ok though, "Gangsta Rap", Most of todays pop music, anything by the Stereophonics.

My girlfriend used to have the same views on Drum and Bass, but i introduced her to all sorts of styles and let he meet some of the producers who changed her mind.

The idiots following the scenes commerial side are making a bad name for it all, the party tunes you refer to are just a snippet of whats out there.

If you can be bothered, download, or have a listen to
'Renegades of funk'

It's on renegade records im sure, Ray Keiths label.
A lovely mix of some chilled drum and bass.
Just a small example of what you could listen to without the pikey following.

Aye, me too - I used to think it was all low-intellect shouty nonsense 'til the OH lent me some chilled-out old stuff - Aphrodite/Artificial Intelligence/Omni Trio - and I've quite gotten into it now. I don't like the commercial tail of things either though - and I'd be hard pushed to find a D&B nite which doesn't attract a scummy chav crowd.

Back to the topic in hand... I would walk over hot coals to turn off any stereo playing hip-hop. Can't stand the trash. Add boy-band/girl-band pop-bilge to the list too please.

Walk This Way by Run DMC / Aerosmith.

It really annoys me.

All the best

If the Run DMC version comes on the radio, I tend to turn the radio off.

All the best

I always kinda liked that. Preferred the original but Aerosmith were dead in the water at this stage and the DMC version gave 'em a new lease of life. There's been some great tunes that would have never seen the light of day had it not been for the success of that track.
