Right......this is boring, so look away now, if you havent got a dishwasher Confused

I've just got my first dishwasher.....and it is taking some working out Rolling Eyes The instuctions dont make much sense.

Question 1: If you use those 3 in 1 dishwasher tablet things.....does that mean you dont need to put seperate salts, detergent and rinse agent in??

Question 2: Why when using a 3 in 1 tablet, am I find it undissolved on the floor of the dishwasher, when it started off in the dispenser......the dispenser flap is always open too at the end of a cycle.

Summats not right....can any dishwasher experts help?? Confused

1. If you use 3in1 that is all you need

2. The dispenser opens so that it can get to the plates, if it's undissolved make sure you've got it on the right setting, not just "pre-wash" Thumbs Up It sounds like the water's not hot enough

Yes salt is always needed, other wise you will get scale in the pipes.

The tablet you put in the flap pops out to wash the plates once it has filled with water, if it is still in the bottom half dissolved try putting it in the cutlery holder, if its still not completely gone it seems a bit weird to me.

Seconded Thumbs Up

Mad thing is... I gave mine away just before christmas... I didnt use it often enough to be worth keeping... I found it quicker and less messy to just wash dishes as I went along! Even with 2 lads it takes forever to fill up! I actually went out and bought more cups and glasses just to use so that I could fill it!Laughing

I got me a new dishwasher now.... Wink

So even though I am using the 3 in 1, I still have to put the salt stuff in the bottom plug thing.

How do I know if its getting hot enough??

I found using Tesco's/ASDA's own 4 in 1 tablets were better for dissolving than the expensive ones Thumbs Up

Buy the tablets with everything in (salt, rinse aid, etc) pop in the dispenser drawer and that's it - nothing else needed Very Happy

I never read all the posts Embarassed
Butt:

1st you will need to buy four sets of dishes. Ask anyone who has a dishwasher.

2nd Call the council and ask if you need to use water softeners.
Some counties have good soft water. Or ask the kids to ask the geog. teach.

3rd No home should be without a dishwasher. They are hygenic and use less water than the two or three sinks full that by hand uses.

They're not even dead posh now.

I want one of those new ones that collects, washes and puts away.

Who uses 3 bowl's of water to wash up? I only use 1.

I had a dish washer for a while but it drove me nuts.

1st of all you must use the salt in the dispenser Thumbs Up As mentioned stops the heating element furring up.

If the timer/progress indicator is manual simply turn it round to see when in the cycle the flap opens
