I'm after some bike to bike communication kind of Walkie Talkies for me and a friend.

We're going to be riding to Donnington with speeds going up to 130mph no doubt. We'll be quite close, but can't always ensure we'll be within 50 metres etc.

I was wondering what kind of experiences people have had with their stuff? And how much they've been? I don't want to spend much at all, the less the better really. I'm thinking <£100 per person.

Also can you hook more than 2 people up if you want, say if my other friend bought it and we were all on the same frequency?

Thanks!

Nick.

Take it this is your first time? Do them speeds anywhere near Donnington and you will be walking home. The Police are everywhere on race day. Shocked

I tried quite a few systems, the cheep ones are crap, Autocom is the one I ended up with, Has vox, mp3, bike to bike, rider to pillion, mobile phone, satnav connections. I don't use them all at once though. Mainly use the bike to bike, rider to pillion and mp3. The radios that I use cost £70 for two and are ok for about 2 miles although you can get better radios, it is the Autocom system that really makes things work great. Not sure on costs these days as I have had mine for about two years now.

Not wishing to be argumentative but I have a cheap system and use it on my ham radio gear, works fine at motorway speeds.
I think the Autocom cables are better tho, the connectors are easier to deal with.

No it isn't my first time down.

I'm travelling from Halifax, so I've got over 1 and a half hours riding. Some of that will be on the motorway near me, obviously. This is where suggested speeds can be got. Also I'm planning on going on a track day, actually no doubt the day before and camping over.

Thanks.

I was looking at something like this: https://www.2wayradioshop.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=23 then buy the microphone and ear pieces after. Thoughts?
