Hi,

Do a search on chinese bikes to get some opinions generally.

My post on here has links to some of the most interesting threads.

My opinion? Cheap chinese tat pretending to be a CBR125. You get what you pay for! Thumbs Down Sick

Hope this helps.

save up £400 more and buy a CBR125 , not some tat! ,

the £400 more for a 2nd hand CBR125 isn't just buying the Honda name,

Laughing "Born on the track", if that's true I'll eat my own hand.

Same opinion really, go for a CBR125 if you really want a cheap sports style bike. If you can afford more look at RS125s, or if you want something to see you through to your full test, a CG125.

I have to admit that i don't know a great deal about bikes but i would definitly agree with the other posts.

I bought a 125 that i had never heard of - no one else had either for that matter - what made me buy it was the fact that i had 12 months dealer warantee - only ever had one problem with mine which they sorted out quickly for me.

I wouldn't want a bike that i have to partly put together myself and registar (perhaps i'm just lazy...who knows Laughing ).

for an extra £200 you could by my 125 off me Wink

I did some digging around on alibaba.com on these exact bikes a while ago, (made by JingHong Motorcycle Co) and found I could get a crate of ten of them, and they'd break down to cost £400 each brand new direct from manufacturer. That says it all as far as I'm concerned.

You'll notice they don't list top speed in their specs. If you search alibaba.com for "motorcycle" and ratch thru the listings, that bike fetches a top speed of 80km/h. That's a top speed of 50mph. They do a 250cc duplicate of the same bike, with a top speed of 92km/h (58mph).

Take the same amount of money, and shell out on an old NS125, NSR125, Mito, RS125 or any other 2nd-hand 2T 125cc... or find some more money and grab a CBR125. They'll last longer, and put more of a smile on yer face.

I went from CBT straight to NS125 (£500 off ebay), onto Mito125 (£450 off a mate), passed test, and swapped the Mito for a CB500. Done. Don't tit about with new bikes on CBT. Get summat old and tatty that you don't mind throwing down the road, kicking back into shape, getting back on again and carrying on regardless. Save up for test and get it done asap. S'much more sensible in the long-term.

steer clear. i have a chinese 50 and i am forever having to do bits to it to keep it running. i completly knackered the first engine and am now on my second. I got a CG125 ready for when i turn 17 and will never have another chinese bike like that.

Hi, like one of the other members mentioned, stay clear of Chinese bikes. I passed my CBT and brought a brand new chinese scooter. Biggest mistake of my life. As soon as things starter going wrong with the scooter, finding spare parts in the UK was harder than drawing blood out of a stone. Just a recommendation! My advice, go for a Honda CG125, very reliable, very economical (full tank = 190+ miles) and very attractive to look at considering its a learner bike. Smile

for altnernate point of view i decided against buying a cheapo bike and dropped £1700 on a rieju rs2 (which i might as has had 0 problems even after de-restriction) its now going for 1200 and id say that £500 loss was a dam lot of fun and i dropped it twice. (handle bar snapped replaced within 14 days good service.) and i dont regret buying it atal , i often got flashed people wanting to race me or talk to me ect after i passed my car test with no l plates. and i met some cool people and she was a beauty! Skyjet...hmmm my sister's boyfriend bought one about 18 months ago, he rates it and really enjoys riding it however, couple of problems:

Firstly - some muppet reversed into it breaking the side-stand, foot peg, and clutch lever, these parts were ordered at around £100 total and took an eternity to arrive and this from an "authorised" dealer.

Secondly - when he took the bike to have it repaired the dealer found that the rear-hub assembly was missing a bolt, one bolt had sheared and the third remaining bolt was in the process of rattling itself loose. He has had the bike serviced from new with the dealer!

Though covered the bike has been left outside since purchased in all weathers and shows little signs of deterioration, which is a positive.

So I say make up your own mind, personally I think the Chinese are on their way to global domination and would therefore rather buy Japanese as they appear to have slowed down a bit. Eh?
