well i did the wrong thing, and gassed it up to try and slide out of it!! highsided down the road!!

so i would try and avoid doing that!! not sure what the correct answer is though!!!

Depends on if it's a left or right hander, I had it on a right hander and just clenched my cheeks, kept a neutral throttle and hoped for the best, this was with my knee down, thankfully it gripped and I came out the other side ok. Had it happen on a left hander, could see I had room so I stood the bike up and nailed the brakes, it's all circumstancial as to what the best option is at the time. If you have room to stand the bike up I'd do that every time, more likely to stack it if you stay cranked over, just my opinion of course.

i kept the throttle pinned but its only a 125 knobilies arnt very good, any way the wheel just kept sliding out until i got out of the corner onto the straight, do some offroading you get used to it. i still had a brown pants at the end of it though.

So for example if it was a lefthander and you turned the bars to the right a bit to stand the bike up a bit more would that be good?

It’s not happened to me (yet!) but wondered whats the best course of action.

Far too broad a question. When most things are done by feel, it's either my illiteracy or it's difficult to put into words exactly what I'd do in said situation.

I would have shut the throttle off a little and try stand the bike up as much as possible.

Hold the throttle as you were doing - if you let off, make sure you're still at least at the point that should give you that 60/40 weight distribution to the rear (throttle open slightly).

A sliding rear should to some degree 'correct' it's self. As the bike slides it turns in a bit, the bike is now pointing in a bit more, so not turning so much - which should hopefully lead to it regaining grip.

Letting off the throttle can lead to the rear gripping suddenly and throwing you off the 'high side'.

Getting on the throttle shouldn't lead to a high side, but may well lead to a low side. It's possible that it could make it spin up even more, then grip again if there was an area of lack of specific lack of adhesion grip - leading to a high side.

Providing you're only just over the limit if you stay calm and relaxed, you should be fine.

Of course, once you've got grip again, it's time to take it a bit easier .

I'd wack the front brake on (always good round a corner, am i right ) get the back end up in the air, land it and spin the back end up and do some donuts, that way no-one will think you shit yourself.
