bt45's - convince me!

hi, my new cb1 is fitted with bt45 tyres, my old rs has bt090's.
i guess my problem is all in my mind, as i never had any doubts on the rs as everyone i spoke to about the bt090's said they were very grippy and i could get some immense lean angles.
what i want to know is can push for and get enough grip from the bt45's? i wont be getting my knee down just yet, but im working on my cornering skills and leaning the bike over and i guess i just need someone to reassure me that the bt45's will be ok!

i had them on my bandit and i neva had a problem...bridgestone are one of the best tyres, no worries. u one have a prob
i have bt 014's on me hornet and i can lean for fun i have emmense grip!!

Superb tyres, used them for years on my lc's and they would take all lean angles and quick changes in direction, wet or dry. Very confidence inspiring! I've seen a few people racing on them too as they make a good 'intermediate' tyre if you dont know what the weather is going to do!

Hey,

I can vouch for BT45'S. Ive had them on every bike ive owned for the past 5 years. They have loads of grip and seem to last a good length of time too.

In fact ive just ordered a new one today for my 400.

I find them to be very confidence installing in the wet and the dry

I happily peg scrape on my BT45's with my gpz500s,

they're very good, if they're going to go they always (so I've found) give a warning slip first.. which is good


a rear lasts 6000miles and a front 12000 miles or more.

Not great grip from cold - so becarefull to warm them up.

Even hot, I've never been that impressed.

However, make sure you'll push the boundaries slowly and you'll still probably be pleasantly surprised how far you can push them.

The BT39 and BT39SS are sportier tyres, but I think more designed for lower power maybe?

I found they are great new but get frightening when they start to wear. The variable compound rear gets an odd profile andmakes thebike tip in oddly

I've had my GPZ (my 1st bike since my DAS) for about 6 months now, and it already had BT45's fitted when I got it. I've ridden the bike in all weathers thru the winter, and never had any problems with the grip or the handling etc...
and now I'm also starting to enjoy the improving weather, together with my gradually improving riding skills, and my gradually improving cornering angles....I'd highly recommend them.

Use them on my ancient CBR6 and they are a great tyre! The rear doesn't last long but grips well

I originally had a Continental brand tyre on the front and when I swapped it for the BT45 it was a revelation

I can vouch for them, I fitted them to my NSR after the first tyres wore out, i havn't used any other model since

I get great mileage out of them they are confident when on a warm road and offer good stability in the wet and when cold.

Had them on the Bros 400, loved them, rode through snow, scraped my peg a few times, couldn't fault them and i got 12000 miles from a rear and there is still about 2mil of tread.

Think i preferred them to the Bt090's i've currently got on the bandit, think i will replace the 090's when they run out with some more BT45's

Had them on my GS500 and now my Bandit600, great tyres, loads of grip, good in the wet and the dry. look like van tyres when they are completely worn... Highly recommended.

High silicone compound so predictable in the wet. You can't really put anything else on a GPZ500s so I've been through lots of them over the years.

They have a 'funny' patch after maybe 100 miles that passes after another 100 miles then they are spot-on. They can start to track along linear obstacles in the road when the front has a bit of wear on, feels odd but never amounts to a problem.

I've found recently that I go a lot better if I run the front pretty soft in terms of pressure. They feather like mad but feel really planted right down past the wear bars.

v good , can get KD pegs down on bike , never slid out on me yet , and can handle the bumpy slipy snake very well , current set have done 6700 miles and still have about 3.5 mil on the front 4 on the back , which makes me think should I change them to go on tour? , such a waste,

Have had two sets of these on the Divvy. I've managed to chase down and out-corner a few sportsbikes with these tires as I've chucked the bike into all sorts of corners with confidence. Whipped around tight hairpins two-up with the pegs scraping on a hot and dry road so they get a thumbs up from me.

They last as well. I managed 8k out of a rear with daily commuting up the motorway and riding the twisties home...

running with Dunlop sportmax Qualifiers now (rather than the 020's I have been using) and they seem to stick like glue to the road with their bigger contact patch and softer rubber. We'll see how long they last me...

I've not done enough mileage (only 2,500) on the CB to give a long term impression of the BT45s I have, but so far I'm very happy with them - the bike goes where I point it and they feel as though there's lots more to give. I'll certainly be choosing them again when the time comes.

I've had a front BT45 thats done 10K, rears last me about 5K.

I can vouch for grip from an all year round commuter (me).

I have ridden, in some of the worst wet conditions and these tyres were fine.

doh! just realised ive got a bt92 fitted to the front! i just assumed it was a bt45 like the back one
