How much money do you have to spend - and more importantly, does she drive?

Turn it around.

Tell her you're having the bike, and the option to stay or go is down to her but if she stays she accepts the bike as part of you. If she don't like that, the door is over there.

Jeez why do people think they have the right to dictate to others how to live their lives just cos they sleep with them? Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad

I voted.. get rid of the girl..

however, get a bike, take her out... you may turn her into a biker chick, just be carefull incase she starts growing facial hair and belching louder than you can Wink ...

I was told today that's the deffinition of a biker 'female'... Neutral

don't be so radical, just take to her properly about it, maybe you should look at getting something like a 400cc it will make her feel a little less aprehensive if it's a smaller cc.

For £3k you could get something like a J model ZX6R and insurance. Might even be able to stretch to a k1 GSXR600.
£2k should be able to get you a cheap car, insurance and lessons for both bike and car.

whats she going to know about cc's

shes a girl ffs

no offence ment

eactly she's gonna think a 400 isn't as powerful and dangerous as a 600, plus you get bonus points for trying to compromise.

Ditch the spotty deadweight and go for the girl.
I mean the bike. Yes, the bike.

Hey, I'm still with the same girl I was at 17, and we've been married 17 years now with 2 kids...

...actually it's because she had a Moggy Minor that I thought I didn't need a bike anymore so I gave it up and I've only just passed my test 20 years later.

erm...can he keep the bike and screw the girl? Wink

Follow your heart. If you want the bike, get the bike. If there is a genuine practical reason for having a car, get that instead. But don't do it to please the girl.
