Well, woke up this morning and went to get bike out of the garage, just to go see my mother only to find the clasp has been bent and twisted off.

Ok, i'll be honest you could sneeze on the garage and it would fall down but thats not the point, its the principle of it.

I don't know if it was some little fuckwits wanting something just because they were bored or some pro's just checking out what there was (there being my bike, 2 suzuki LTZ400's and about 2k in pushbikes) but they didn't take anything (when the pushbikes weren't locked up, nor my bike).

Like i said, maybe it was some professional thiefs just seeing what there was to come back later with a van....

We are VERY pissed off...that lock and clasp had been on there for almost 40 years without any problems and now some fucktards decided to break it..old man is now in the process of putting on a big (and i mean big) clasp and padlock Razz

So if any twats that are in the dewsbury area and broke into a garage last night...heres something for you....

Sounds like you actually got a very good 'wake up call' - seems pretty lucky they didn't take anything and you now know that you definitely need better security on the garage, so you're less likely to get stuff nicked if someone comes along who /will/ take something.

May well be they got disturbed or similar and decided to scarper.

You can get cheap garage alarms for under a tenner if you look around - not sure how much it will stop a theif, but should be a good deterrent I reckon. One I got from Aldi recently has a remote IR 'blipper', it also does both PIR and has a magnetic contact for doors.

just to be on the safe side, get a baby monitor set up so you can hear anything going on, incase pro's decide to pay a return journey....

this happened to my house (when i lived in Blackpool) i noticed some scraping marks around the back door one nite, and thought nothing more of it as the area was plauged by little shites with nothing better to do and no money to spend on crack.

a few days later, me n the missus walk in, she crashes on the couch and i walk into the kitchen to make a brew, only to find the fucking whole back window had been removed and the house ( upstairs ) had been turned over.......by chance, i had all my photographic equipment set up in the living room, and the stupid swine did'nt even check ( a few grands worth of camera's, lighting rigs and my mac ) so they only got away with a bit of jewlery and an ipod......(not exactly what you'd call pro's eh?)

it turned out to have been a spree allong my street of house breaking by 'pro's' in a silver trannie van, who did a few houses at once, then moved on.....I'm still waiting for the dibble to get back to me...

Well we have been on about getting a new (proper..not an asbestos shed) garage for a while now..and i think this is the kick in the arse we needed.

Kitchen was meant to be done in april...i think its the garage now Shocked

We was thinking about getting a dummy camera setup for the time being..or even a cheapish recording camera....as a deterrant mainly but if they do decide to nick something anyway....we may get them on film.

We'll see what happens.........but i don't think they are going to break this clasp off anytime soon Very Happy
