Hi,

I'm going to replace a few parts next month & want to know how easy/hard theya re to fit.
-Footpeg (not hanger) Doesn't seem to be a bolt to unscrew, so how's it come off lol.
-Clutch lever, i don't really like messing around with cables, so will this require any messing around with the cable tension?
-Stator Cover, is it just a case of taking the old one off or will i be greeted by leaking oil & other stuff? Or, would it be possible to sand the cover down to bare metal & re-spray? The scuffs are quite deeps so what would i need to make it smooth?

Piccies.

Clutch cable not too bad, just take your time.

Starter plate cover, the studs may be a little stubborn, try loosening all before removing the lot to prevent some being super tight whilst others are really loose. Unbolt, bolt on new one. Tighten and jobs done.

(not sure whether it will be full of oil or not, so may need to drain first, goes without saying really Laughing )

Foot peg will be connected with a huge allen bolt (10-12m I think), so clamp down and get twisting, the ones on the FZR where a pain in the ass so left them alone, yours being newer should be fine Shifty Very Happy

Bite the bullet man and get your hands dirty Thumbs Up

And the clutch lever should be a breeze providing that the new one is the same as the one you are replacing it with.

The foot peg bolt is held on with washer at the back, prise the washer off and the big bolt just comes out.

In answer to the question, you will need to release some of the tension in the clutch cable to be able to fit a new lever.

The stator cover should clean up easily for respraying. I tend to use a body file or a linisher but if you don't have one get some P80 paper and a sanding block. If the scratches are really deep or you don't fancy filing / sanding them out then you can repair them with chemical metal or similar.

Thanks alot.
Can these be bought at any DIY? I'll give it a go, then hopfully if it's smooth enough i'll re-spray with some black. Thumbs Up
