Well the V raptor is booked in for the paint job next week. I did decide to go for Triumph speed triple pink and I will be getting some kind of dark sparkily purple decals.

Does anyone know anyone who recovers seats in plastic leatherette / vinal stuff. The current seat is simply covered and stapled. It would need to be some sort of pink I would imagine or purple.

It would be better if they were somewhare around here (Chippenham / Bath / Bristol and nearby area) as if teh seat has to go away for any length of time the bike becomes not rideable.

I use an electric staple gun, it drives the staples in no problem.

Done it on my old NS125R and on a scooter without problems.

I did initially try a mechanical staple gun but it just didnt have the force to drive them right in.

As long as the fabric you're using to cover it has got a bit of stretch to it, I reckon it should be easy enough given some patience and (as Hex says) a powerful staple gun.

By the way, if you can't find the fabric you want, gimme a shout. There are about 5 big fabric shops down Goldhawk Road that sell all manner of pretty shinyness... my holographic silver curtains were epic!

If you use vinal you could well be able to get away with not having to stick the seat cover at all, you might find you can streach it across the seat tight enough that it follows the contours of the seat with no problems. Though I must admit I don't know what the seat looks like so it may not apply here. Embarassed

I reckon vinal could be stretched round that with minimal swearing and cursing. Very Happy

The bike will be a beauty Tam!!

Yea - do it yourself, you're artistic enough not to staple yourself to the bike.

Muggins has volunteered to recover James' seats, but so far we've only managed to buy fluffy cow hide. Hmmmm, NOT very practical. Boys! Honestly

It is very tempting to have a fluffy cow hide bike - I think it would look really classy (until it rained Shocked)

recovered my scooter seat with some brown vinyl after it was keyed...wasnt the hardest of jobs, and had i been arsed and less frustrated with it i could have done a really sound job

got pissed off half way, extra experience with fabrics might have been useful for me, ended up having a bit shite looking one, but its easy to undo and try try again
