first off, this is a long post, its late, might not make a lot of sense, you might not understand, you might not care, it might contain emotion, it might contain opinion, you have permission to switch off now.....legal bit done Razz

lots has happened in the past 7 days, and i've been away for most of it, so i figured i might as well post up a story, might be entertaining read if nowt else... here goes..

monday Razz day starts well enough with the idea of filming for a goodbye cbr250 video, goes really well, and we pretty much wrap up for the day about lunch time, and you all saw the vid, it rocks Smile

one last thing, lets film a burnout in the gravel, my idea, would look cool on the end of the vid i think, fair enough...so backed my bike a little way into the gravel/dust shite and commence burning out, 5 seconds later, a car locks up and screeches to a halt behind me.

"oh shit" i thought, as the angry driver gets out, looking pissed off
"i've fucked up here i think, he looks angry, god he's small, and ugly, and old, what the hell does he want, zim save me" this went on... Razz he is ranting at me, look what you've done etc etc, i see a ding in his car door (never really inspected the damage close up but he seemed to think it was bad) id flicked a stone or five at his car from the burnout, backing down onto the road and away from the driver in a vain effort to protect my plate, he is pacing toward me

look to zim as to what to do, was tempted to get him to rip my plate off, didn't in the end, cos it seemed like a bad idea, what seemed like a better idea (fuck knows why) was to run away, so i dropped it into gear, and hammered past this guy, he barged at me as i went past, made fairly solid contact, and almost had me off
"haha, i'm too good for you, you are old and small and no good at removing riders from moving motorcycles, you suck". i however am incredibly smart and was in the process of buggering off at high speed from an RTA after almost being knocked off, the infinite wisdom of an 18 year old, i guess we will just never be understood Razz

enough sarcasm for one paragraph maybe? maybe not, so i ran off up the road at silly speeds running most red lights and pulled over a few miles on, after seeing a meat wagon behind me with all lights and sirens going, they went past (not for me thankfully), but at that moment kev rang, and told me to get back there quick, cos i'm in a lot of shit, and how right he was, having realised what i'd done and concluded i'm in fact an idiot! Razz went back running all red lights again and the bentley and guy were still there on the side of the road

he was not happy, called me most names under the sun, showed me the damage, explained immense costage and said id be paying the whole lot, and if i couldn't afford it he could take my bike away, gave him my details quickly cos he said he had some mates coming to give him a pen (wtf?!) i wanted to leave before they arrived, can you blame me, so gave him all my details and left

few days later after getting not very much sleep at all, he turns up at my house while i'm out, after i told him specifically to ring me before doing so (I live with my grandparents and parents, i really do not want some stranger turning up and getting everyone in a panic). So he is sitting there, told my parents his story, denies everything i claim, said i did it on purpose (why would i) because he reckons id like to wreck his nice car, hmm, also claims i then tried to run him down despite the fact i would come off worse had i done so, and of course i was just running away, and given that he had to dive at me to make contact, would suggest i don't aim particularly well with my hit and runs (TWAT!)

laid papers from witnesses and stuff down, full damage report from garage, all this other shit, listing criminal damage charges, i told him i'm not paying cos it was an accident and is covered by insurance, he says fine then i'll see you in court, in my job i cant afford that kind of messing around, i also cant be doing with court appearances at 18, so the upshot of all this is, that if i pay him the damages (£1390 worth) then he will drop all charges that night and i'll never see him again, and he wont take into account the other charges for time off work, rental of new bentley etc etc

me being one who likes life to be simple and would do a lot for an easy day...gave him his money and fucked him off, yes i got shafted, yes i could have fought, but would it really be worth it, i had the money i made a decision, i made a mistake, i paid for it, i have to live with it...you can give advice on what i should have done, but at this stage its not much use

bottom line, i was bullied because of my age, and he got a lot more out of me than he perhaps would have done, had i been an adult and not a wimp Razz

[intermission] bored yet? Smile

so...that over with...all holiday i've been after a new bike, finally went for an R6 after much decision and deliberation and possibly the worst kept secret in forum history, cos i cant keep my mouth closed when i'm excited about stuff Razz

picked my R6 up wednesday, rode it up to worcester, to see gav and hannah, thanks again for the hospitality mate! had a great time! Smile Very Happy

rode back saturday evening with mike (newbie) who was selling his RS125 in chiswick and needed someone to show him the way and give him a lift back..the plan was also he was to buy my bike, he sold his that night, and test rode my CBR250 earlier today, happy with it, he purchased the beast at the bargain price of £1250 and rode home, i showed him the way to the A40 and followed him up it till junction 4 where i pulled off and headed towards reading (G's house) dusty needed a standard exhaust for an overdue MOT so i agreed to a can swap for a week or so while he got it done

after i left mike, it was my first opportunity to ride the R6 on some real roads in day light at my own speed, so was riding fairly spirited enjoying my new bike Smile all good

down the A404 onto A404M then onto a roundabout joining this to M4, then head two junctions to Reading, missed the exit on the roundabout the first time, went round again (quicker this time, can you see whats coming). Pulled off the exit onto a left handed slip-road that would take me onto the M4, was heading into this at a fair lick, 40 or so, nothing too extreme, the bend tightens up, so i crank it right over as i would have done on my CBR250, then the front gave a bit, then a bit more then a bit more, never completely losing grip, but i can see i'm running well wide and this could get ugly, so in panic i was on the anchors, the thing stood right up and we are running very wide, can see i'm headed for the dusty, soft mud bit at the side of the road between the tarmac and crash barrier, can see this is going to be very dodgy

as soon as the bike ran onto the mud i knew it wasn't going to stay vertical, we are still doing 30 odd, and then bam, its on its left ear and i'm rolling down the road

first off and prprobablyost importantly, i'm ok, was wearing my full leathers, boots, gloves, helmet etc as i always do, and i felt nothing, got right up and patted self down, inspection of leathers shows i landed on my left knee and left elbow, the two bits which have nice big lumps of CE armour in, scuffs also down palms of both gloves, to be expected few hours on and one of my knuckles is hurting slightly, perhaps where it might have got jammed between bar and floor, but otherwise i feel fine, we'll see in the morning

bike was heavy to lift, adrenaline helped, scuffs on bar end, lever, mirror, mid section of fairing has nasty scratches on it but no cracks, headlight fairing got away pretty much fine, lower fairing got some scuffs, but no cracks, tank got a slight scratch, but should be ok with some T-cut, worst bit was rear-set snapped clean in half, the peg only being held on by a heel plate. the bike started after about 30 seconds of turning over, pprobablyflooded but thank god it started, left it idling for a bit, sat on barrier and thought "oops that was stupid" Rolling Eyes

rang G to let him know and then headed over to his house, bike seemed all in order mechanically, everything still working and straight, and riding felt the same, i was expecting a confidence knock but didntdidn'tly change anything apart from feeling stupid, appreciated all the people who stopped, at least 10 cars and 2 bikes pulled up to check i was ok

so that was expensive...

in other news...i got a credit card approved for a 2900 limit, thanks to the guy who made me empty my bank account to pay for his car, i'm now 1500 in the red on the credit card, cos i needed to pay for insurance (850 TPO R6 with Yamaha Insurance Services) and pay a 600 balance on the bike when picking it up, all this after i swore i was gonna cut it up before activating it Razz

that was a long long post, and spelling and punctuation probably got worse progressively

sorry there araren'tny pics of a mint R6 to show you, but there just hahasn'teen much of a chance, if anyones interested its 1999, was mint, 18k miles, with datatag, and standard as they come, FSH, i paid 4200, put 700 down and am paying off 170 or so a month for the next two years

in conclusion, the higher power or whatever it might be, is really having a laugh with me this week, and hopefully that'll do me for the year at least

but to be honest its not all that bad, ivi'veearnt a shit load over the past week, lots of lifes little lessons, you might want to describe it as

and over the past 3 weeks, which have been my holiday, ivi'vead a really wicked time, especially up in worcester this week, so all this shit is probably just to balance that out or something.......anyone understand karma, pleasure/pain, or the meaning of life, answers on a postcard please! Smile

back to work tomorrow, life goes on, and i don't want to follow it Razz

goodnight, and i thank you Rolling Eyes

if you made it this far you are braver than i, personally i would have shot the writer long ago.. Wink cheers for reading, its not often i dump my life on paper, so can you let me off with this one? Razz

Sad Sounds like you've had an unlucky week, and Crying or Very sad for your poor R6.

Hope things get better for you mate.
So you can still ride the R6 with its broken rearset? I presume you are trying to find another one. It sounds like the bike hasn't come off too badly and at least you're still able to ride it.

Sounds like it came off better then my R6!! Still haven't a clue where it is, and apparently the police want to interview me when i get my mem back!

Craig said, his mate saw what he tought to be an R1 lose is back wheel and then get highsided onto an oncoming car, where my accident was.

So maybe that was what happened?

Oh well.

Bad luck goosey, but at least its done and dusted though.

Dont want to be argumentitive but Kev why the hell did you make goose go back to the scene you have a phone if the guy was threatening you with his mates you should of called the police and if he called the police he would have no proof that you knew who goose was.

I would have to agree Deano but in retrospect. It would only leave a mad cage driver who perhaps would find it amusing to cut up bikers in the future causing a major accident.

There's enough crappy car drivers around as it is without giving one a reason to run one of us off the road.

Goose was silly, he knows that and he did the right thing by going back. Sorry to hear that the driver was such an arse and charged such a high fee.

Sorry to hear about the above events Goose, it's all part of the learning curve. Just happened all at once to you. At least you are ok and your bike has minor damage which you can fix.

I would rather have a broken bike, hassle , loss of money than to have broken bones and hospital.

If you think the tyres we're mainly to blaim then get some new ones, go easy for the first 100miles of scrub in and enjoy the r6.

Regards,
Kevo.

I woulda don a runner Very Happy Plain and simple leg it. He'll cut up bikers regardless, no point losing £1300 for the benefit of thinking a cager may actually think about someone esle on the road.

[shakes head in disbelief] Goose!

Ahh well never mind. You did the 'honest' thing and had the guts to go back - unlucky the cager was a cnut. That was a bit unfortunate. That was expensive mistake number one...

Number two was panicking when running wide and slamming the brakes on whilst leant over. Nine times out of ten more throttle (and if you can - more lean) will get you round.

Ahh well...at least you're okay. Nice bike by the way. Doesn't sound like too much damage....you may want to check it out properly though.

Sad Goose Sad

The bike is only minor damage from what you say which is good.

And the whole "burnout, stone, bentley" thing, presumably the guy had gooses plate, and kev etc would have had a camcorder in hand so even if the guy hadnt got gooses plate he'd have noticed that.

Although I'd probably have legged it as well Rolling Eyes
