I met some recently that somehow made me ask all sorts of questions.

I would answer my poll with 'I am living for tommorow'. I've always been like that. Things will be more fun, interesting, easier better etc.

You could call this optermistic, or unrealistic. Not sure which!? Because as it stands, this is my life and this is the way it is, today!

I do also belive in karma, I've recently seen some really good examples.

I sort of believe in karma a bit, as any time something good happens to me, bad things happen soon after Laughing

Personally I think life is too short to not do what you want in life, live for tomorow but dont play it safe waiting for tomorow.. if that makes sense.

Live for today!

Look to the past for experience, look to the future for hopes and dreams, but live for today. If you live in the past or the future you'll never be happy.

And so ends my Monday morning philosopical thought for the day.

I believe that life is what you make it. It's all about taking (or not taking) opportunities that come your way, making the right/wrong decision, enjoying yourself while you can and being open and honest to change your point of view and beliefs.

agree, life is what you make of it, I'm not sperstitious really, but 'karma' seems to have a way of showing up once in a while in everyone's life, whether you notice or not. My Penny Coin Penny Coin Thumbs Up

missing an option , tricking yourself tommorow will be better,

ie jam tommorow,
I'm bloody still paying back for the good karma of 1991, where I bought a chocolate bar of some sort , and opened it up and won another one , this happened 5 times in a row,

which has caused 16 years of iffy luck

Somebody once said to me that if you live to seventy years old, you get just over 25,000 days in your life.

So by the time you're 15, you've used over 5 thousand of those.

If you had only £25,000 to last your whole life, you'd be a lot more careful about how you spent it, especially once you have spent a fifth of it without hardly noticing.

So now I try to "spend" every single day as positively as I can, cos there's no point throwing good money after bad. Of course, I still waste far too many days, the same as I've wasted a lot of money in my life so far.

But it gave me a very different perspective, and every so often I drag out the "how many days might I have left" mentality, polish it up a bit and look at how to make the most of life - and try to make it as positive as I can for myself and for everyone around me - cos ya never know, some of your friends might not even have 25000 left, but you can never tell who's only going to get 10, 15 or 20 thousand ... till they're gone.

For me. It is looking back to your past, to make your future brighter. I.E learn from your mistakes. Don't dwell on them, stick in the past for a moment, see what you did wrong, don't be ashamed, there is nothing you can do to change it. Then look to the future, be prepared for it not to run smoothly, or to plan. Just make sure you don't make the same mistakes again. Thumbs Up

Works well for me.

I think I try my hardest to be optimistic and look for the positive side to everything. I'm one of those "It could have been worse" and "Everything happens for a reason" people.

If you dwell on everything bad then you'll never feel happy. Look for the best in everything and everyone and have a ball Very Happy

Trying to define life within a sentence is like... well...
Ok, I have no clever similie for it, but it's fu**in' impossible.
The closest I can come after 26 years of ocasionally pondering it is: Destiny is choice, fate is unavoidable.

Think ive had soo much bad luck .... i wouldnt even call it that infact.

Let me rephrase

I Think life has been so sh*t for the las 19 years i jus roll my eyes whenever something bad happends now.

Because however bad life is going to get it..its not going to mean the end......... Unfortunatly (Sometimes)

Revise accordingly and get on with it.

That attiude helps you keep your feet on the ground.

i believe in karma and fate but we have the ability to get things to weigh either way,
ive had a good life with bad patches, experience has made me change the way i look to the future though,
on valentines day 2004 me and my other half reached a point where things were finally going the way we wanted, both in secure jobs with everything to look forward to so we raised a glass and toasted our future, two days later he was fighting for his life in icu after a horrific accident, a year of recovery followed but he lost his job and for the past 2 years we have struggled, however not one to throw in the towel we thought sod this lets change things so hes up in scotland and has got a job,not the one he went up for but a job none the less and i got an offer on my house today, only had one viewing as well a week after it went on the market, so i guess you always have to be brave enough to change what doesnt work for you, its scarey but exciting at the same time but who knows what the future brings, enjoy the day you wake up to and shrug off the shit

There are two certanties, Birth & Death.

The trick is to get as much fun between the two as is possible.

Theres no such things as mistakes, only learning experiences in how not to get things done. You make enough mistakes and you'll be a master at what ever you strive to achieve.

Other than death or terminal illness, life goes on regardless so its truly pointless to stress to the point of it making you ill. But a little stress helps push you along.

Wealth is good but health is better, unless the measure of wealth is friendship. There is nothing more precious than giving your time. Conversley a friend loaning you their time is more valuable than a bar of platinum.

Aim high and don't worry if you fall short, its the journey that is the important part.

Hard work does get rewarded, misery loves company, what goes around comes around and other than line dancing & incest, try everything once. Question everything and always be an independant thinker.

Don't do as others tell you simply because 'they' have authority or because that is what everyone else is doing. The last part is optional if the person doing the telling is weilding a big stick tho.

Swimming against the current is far harder than flowing with it.

^^^^^Laughing the above is a collection of things that I've been using to live my life by over the past few months. I honestly believe there is nothing more important than friendship and that taking time out for people is one of the most important things we can do.

The funny thing is, my work and life has been far more positive/successful lately and I'm not sure if its because things are looking up that I am feeling more chilled (i.e. no stress alows the luxury of 'hippy' thinking) or if being more chilled out and having these thoughts are what is responsible for my life lighting up. Who knows?
