Have a look where forums allow animated avatars and lots of people have them - it gets quite distracting from trying to read the actual posts when there's dancing hamsters jumping trying to fight rossi doing a fart in the avatar below.

A lot of people like the fact that this forum focuses people on the posts rather than the rest of the gumph many forums have.

It's hardly bouncing around the screen is it?

I don't see the point in animated avatars, if you want them so badly go to another forum which allows them.

Also have a look at the file size of some animated avitars, not very nice for people that are still on dial up connections.

No animated avatars or massive signiatures, one of the greatest things about BCF.

You read a 1 line post on other forums and have to scroll past 3 pages of stupid pictures in someone's signature to get to the next post.

There are 50 replies per page on BCF. If each user had an animated avatar. Aswell as the post containing pictures. It'd be terribly slow.

i presume you're talking about kickstarts there?... Quiet a few people including myself didn't realise it was animated until someone commented on it... hardly a distraction on his one...

I haven't got a clue TBH - when I joined BCF I searched for an 'avatar' in Google and that was one of the first things that came up. I never expected to be here 2 years later.

what about the purple ?hippo? and white star wars fighter in a humping motion? Keith's is fine, I noticed it straight off but it's so ominous(or un-noticeable) and BCF related I quite like it Cool
