It went crap, well actually it didn't go anywhere because the examiner wouldn't even take me out because I couldn't prove to him that my bike is restricted and not 33bhp! Evil or Very Mad

So I might now be losing my £48 test fee as well waiting for the DSA to call me back and laugh in my face! Evil or Very Mad

What? You doing your restricted access? Why would your bike be 33bhp? You can only do the test on a 125.

A 125 can still be over 15hp, though I'm sure none of the learners on this forum would know anything about that now, would they? Razz

Shocked That was really harsh!
It would have been nice of them to inform you that you need some sort of proof that RS's or Mito's are restricted. Don't worry too much about the fee though, once you explain that you were given no warning, I can't really see how they have a leg to stand on with not refunding the cash, or at least using the fee for your next booking.

Thats a bit of a bum deal, I would write a letter and appeal the examiner's decision, you did get his name I hope !

Grounds for appeal, I'm sure that there are some, it's worth doing a search on the net on the subject etc....

Good luck

Of course not...

Shaun, shame dude, better luck next time Smile.

And if you couldn't prove it, did you ask/did they let you hire a bike?

Hi

Seems a bit iffy, but I have heard of them doing this.

I thought your bike was an official import? As such restricted I thought they had a frame plate stating the weight and the power?

All the best

Keith

There was an old looking notice up saying that RS and Mito owners would need proof that thier bikes are restricted as they produce near to 33bhp when unrestricted.

A signed note from a dealer or mechanic on headed paper should be enough.

If no one informed me of this before you got there I'd be wanting my money back!

I have now received a phone call from the DSA asking me if I wanted to be compensated in any way, I was like well yes I was given no warning by anybody that I would need any proof that it's restricted!

I was then given an address to send a letter of complaint to which should then be processed within 10 working days Evil or Very Mad

I do now have a headed letter from websters stating that the bike is restricted which I will send a photocopy of with the letter to prove that I was right and the dumb instructor just wouldn't listen to me even though I pointed put to him that there was no power valve fitted to the damn thing! Evil or Very Mad

Then to top it all off helen said to my friend jay that one day I'm going to drop my bike, twenty minutes later and my bike defies gravity outside her house and falls the opposite way of the side stand causing some scratches to fairing, loose handlebar and a slightly bent foot peg which I need to take a look at tomorrow, today just wasn't my day at all! Evil or Very Mad

Oh and keith, there isn't a plate of any sort on the frame indicating weight and power, just weight and how many db it makes at some amount of revs!

In the end it all seems a bit cheeky because a lot of bikes can and are deresticted to make more than 15hp, I also find it's pretty unlikly that any of the 125s actually make over 30 'real world', rear wheel horse power.
